This video really moved me. My Grandmother who has a similar ailment, was able to suddenly remember all the words and tunes as I played her the songs that she liked in her youth. I think this kind of thing isn't isolated and that nursing homes really need to have these devices on stock and include it as part of their therapy.

Thanks for sharing. I know this works, first hand. Put yourself in a home and find yourself being cut off from your favorite music. Wouldn't you just shrivel and waste away? I would. Many have.

My mother, RIP, would crave any music. Even if it wasn't her favorites. She needed the music. She came alive when she could hear music.

If I end up there - and I think I will - my wife (15 years my junior) already knows that me without music is not me. She has promised me that no matter what, I will have music. She is a saint.

I wonder if the nursing home will let me bring my music rig with me, when it's time to go, thinking the tower speakers will probably be a "no-go", better invest in good headphones..
