All those bad things may happen but you'll laugh your a$$ off all the way to the bank!
Posting in this thread so that I am on the list for free XPA-1's from PG in case he wins. I have a copy of his post and will sue him if he wins and does not follow through.:)
I only had 1 number correct so no free gear for the lounge from me.

5 Reasons You Don't Really Want to Win all that Lottery Money 1. Your friends will take advantage 2. Your relationship could fail 3. You'll have an increased risk of bankruptcy 4. You'll have to fight off a host of long-lost family members 5. You'll be a target for a litany of lawsuits and scams Aren't you glad you didn't win?

close the local bar for the night and drink yourself sober
4 people in my state collected 1,100,000 in 1st division lotto..
don't find out til monday to whether i won or not..
could of had a double winner on the same ticket though i wouldn't that lucky, as that would mean i'd collect 2,200,000
on 200k out of 2 mil i might buy an open ended around the world ticket
you'll be supprised in what prick relations you have once the word gets out that you won 600+ mill dollars, you'll be supprised what family member show up looking for a kins helping handout..
i'd be sticking the funds in a separate bank account... buggar the family and spouses...
the hardest part of winning money is finding ways not to spend to much of it.. all at once

And I thought it was high when the local lotto went to €10m and Euromillions won at €110m. I think that's been capped now though, if it gets to around there they split the jackpot with the next prize level which is a good idea IMO.

Answers below:
1. What friends? I'm an engineer. (all seriousness, I do have a few people I call friends) 2. What relationship? Again, I'm an engineer; I work all the time. 3. I'm a cheap-a$$. I've been on a fixed income (once) before; I became even cheaper. 4 & 5. I have a special place in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri for "long-lost" family members, paternity suits, accident claims and the like. Money makes it that much easier to buy off Boss Hogg and Cooter.

Personally, I think winning a lotto of that magnitude would be more of a curse than a blessing. I know people would say they'll deal with that problem when it gets here, but assuming I won, how the heck would I spend that money?
A lot of people say they would donate to charitable causes, further mankind, etc. but talk is cheap. Once you get the money it can start to corrupt you since it feels like an endless supply so today it is buy whatever you feel like buying and tomorrow you will help mankind. But tomorrow remains tomorrow.
On top of that you'd never have any privacy anymore. An endless parade of leeches would be hammering on your door day and night, and you'd have to hire a good security firm to keep you from losing your winnings to ransom money.
I know I never have a chance of winning anyway, but after really thinking about it, winning something that big would be more of a headache. It is best to just ask for one's daily bread.

I'd have hookers and blow for at least 2 years on that budget!!! LOL
Like moku said though, if you won that much money, you'd have to move for sure. I have a good friend who's nephew won 15 million Canadian and moved 2 days later just from people hounding them. They have a few houses around but he said there are all sorts of people coming out of the woodwork asking for money.

Yeah, but you'd be able to get some of those OMD-28s.

Having to move would be the least of my worries. Which tropical island to relocate to? Might be hard but the time spent researching would be excellent!

I would take the entire time they give you to claim your prize to get everything lined up. I wouldn't tell anyone what plans were in the works.
On the final day, quite the job, drive to the lottery headquarters city, wait for the armored truck carrying that mystery package to show up where I told them, claim the prize, do all the paperwork, have my new banker verify the wire transfer, and jump on the jet I chartered to parts unknown.
I believe the lottery requires winners to do a few press conferences and take a few photos. Not a problem! I could easily contract a remote TV crew to fulfill that part of the deal.
I wouldn't allow myself to be hounded. Planning is the key.
