Hi,
I had a power outage today while using my system.
The XPA-3 gave me the "red blink of death" on the right speaker. I disconnected everything from it and put the minimum cables back, it now *appears* to be resolved... though I didn't test audio yet.
because my XSP-1 is just not outputting audio.
I get the GUI, I can switch inputs, volume, everything, but no sound is coming out. I connected the headphones to isolate the problem to the XSP-1, and indeed there is no audio in the headphones as well. I switched from CD input to phono input - no audio at all.
Also - I get no 12v trigger from the XSP-1 to the XPA-1. I have a feeling that my issues with the XPA-3 were resolved after removing this trigger cable.
The XSP-1 manual has no info in the troubleshooting about "no audio".
I would really appreciate your help if you have any ideas.
Thanks.

Trying headphones was a good test, could the processor loop be engaged? (Though it doesn't account for the trigger)

I see that you disconnected everything from the XPA-13 but wasn't sure if you tried the same tactic with the XSP. If not try that. Lastly, is there a reset button of feature on the XSP? If so, you may want to reset everything and start over.
How long did the power go out?

About 2 seconds, we were watching TV and everything disconnected and then turned back on very quickly after that.
I'm not sure if there's a reset button on the XSP-1. The manual doesn't say anything about it...

Are you sure your source is putting out a signal?
When I troubleshoot something I start with source. Maybe you have a device with a headphone out that you can test first. Once you know that it working put it into the XSP-1.
Possibly there is a blown fuse in the XSP-1.

I tried both my turntable and a CD player... The CD player doesn't have headphone out and I tried connecting it directly to the amp. It was seriously loud, but proved it works fine. The turntable - well you can always hear it playing a very low volume if you put your ear next to the record. It's connect like it has always been. I do have a surge protector in my outlet and it didn't blow fuze. it will be very surprising if it passed this protector but failed the XSP-1 itself... Besides, if a fuze is blown is it possible for everything else to work just fine? Display, volumen control etc... I really have no clue what is happening here.

It is not uncommon for different areas or voltage classes to be fused separately. Possibly there is a fuse for the display section separate from the output section. I don't have a XSP-1, but it is conceivable.

By the way, the XSP-1 was on Home Theater Bypass when the issue began. I don't know if it's related or not.

rob80b, thank you very much for pointing me to this thread, it seems exactly like the problems I'm having: Hi, I have XSP-1 from first shippment. From 3 weeks my XSP-1 doesnt work Currently I am waiting for decision from technical departament about resolving my problem. I live in Poland, where we use voltage on level 230V. The problem with my XSP-1 is that when pre turned on (blue light on front panel) then I dont hear any music (no audio) from output my speaker or headphone. Additionaly trigger doesnt work. Regards Wojtek BTW Sorry for my grammaticaly mistakes I'll continue the discussion over there.

By the way, the XSP-1 was on Home Theater Bypass when the issue began. I don't know if it's related or not. So it sounds like you've tested the CD player directly through the XSP-1, have you also tested a signal through the HT bypass? Probably so, I assume the TV comes in that way, but checking. As I remember from the problem threads (like Rob linked) you could actually see burnt parts in one or two. You could disconnect and take a peek inside.
