If you want to replace the BBs, then you will need to use something equivelent that is setup like a dual opamp. You will need to desolder the existing BBs and solder in the new modules. Be careful with the soldering, you don't want to lift a trace. Just my .02 here but I have my doubts as to the difference this will make since the BBs are only used as voltage follower (buffer) and not a drive stage (that is done discretely). But I am curious to know how it turns out.

I too am quite interested in the outcome if someone is going to perform this surgery. It won't be me as I wouldn't trust myself to not screw up an already fine piece of equipment that I rely on for several hours of music each evening. Keep us updated.

You can forget about it. My new OPs was very good AD dual channel. The ERC-1 already has discrete OPs. regards

What would be better, upgrading the ERC, or adding the DAC?

That DACs analog section is going to be really great as it's all discrete components with no opamps and it's all throughhole so it components can be swapped/changed and it's a darlington VAS and output stage!
This is THE DAC to watch in the hobby!!!
I have a feeling it will move more than any other Emotiva product in their history...
Everybody and their dog is looking for a good reasonably priced DAC these days and this should be the ticket!
I intend to use one as a preamp for an SDS254 for my 2 chan rig and as PC transport.
I have heard the ADI stuff used in a PC soundcard implementation and their converter is decent... the ADI and CS46xx are both audibly better than most of the converters used today outside the ESS Sabre.
