 Help!! with my erc-1
« Thread Started on Oct 25, 2009, 8:00pm »

okay gentlemen,

start your engines.

i am having problems with my eject function on my new erc-1. no matter what type of cd,used, new or old, it takes three to four times of cycling between stop-ready-loading that the player does before it will give me my disc back. i will press stop, then eject and watch as the player cycles through ready and loading and then it begins to play the cd once more. i have tried switching off the unit, unplugging the unit etc..... but it still continues with this problem.

btw... i always give ample time between each procedure but it hasn't helped.

are any of your familiar with the problem and the solution? i really do not want to send it back for repair. with my denon there is a procedure to follow to enable the unit to reset itself. maybe something like that exists for the erc-1.

as for playing, everything else works great, sounds great, looks great.

Have you contacted the guys at EMO about this? I'm sure they can offer more insight than anyone on the board can.

I concur but I am also very interested to find out what they say about your problem. Keep us in the loop and good luck.

Sounds like a service call! Sure is nice to own a product with a 5 year warranty! I have not had any issues with my player and use it often.

tchaik

Does this problem occur if you press the eject button from the remote or if you press the eject button from the unit? Sorry for the stupid question. Trying to see if the problem is maybe related to the remote getting signals mixed up or if the problem is with the unit itself. Good luck JD

Tchaik. What's up with your ERC-1? Have you heard back from Emo tech in regards to your issue?

jedinite24,

it is inconsistent. sometimes it works perfectly.
this morning it took 3 tries to get the cd out of the player.
late last night after rehearsal it worked perfectly 6 times in a row.

go figure????

i'm in production week for a musical at the college so my time is limited until
the show is finished (nov 6). after that i will turn my attention to the player again.

just tried to eject my cd this morning. six minutes later of watching it cycle between ready and loading and starting up the cd again all with no ejected cd, i think it is time to send back for repair or replacement.

btw....
when it plays the cd it is great. i would just like the opportunity to change the cd i am listening to. i will call this afternoon and get the requisite info to send it back. hope i won't be without it for too long. the oppo bdp-83 is good for cd playing but it is no emo.....

i don't think my wife will allow an autographed picture of sarah. i wouldn't mind having a recording of her saying "hello" though.

I had the same problem with mine when I first got it. Unfortunately it wouldn't even cycle to eject, and I had to physically remove the CD from the ERC. New one was shipped to me and the first one was returned. No problems ever since. This was way before Sarah started working there.

doc,

With the prices Emotiva has for the Holiday Season, you would be foolish not to buy both amps now. You save enough money to buy some nice presents for Christmas... or more gear if you have already finished your Holiday shopping.

You are really going to love the sound of those amps. You are going to wonder why you waited so long to get back to the nirvana of high-end sound. Enjoy!
