Just bought a brand new Project Debut III turntable at Best Buy for $99.00. Only in white at that price but a heck of a deal. ;D

Nope, they had White ones on clearance company wide. Some stores are sold out though. Another guy was buying one the same time as me. The Knoxville TN store had one new in the box and one on display when I left this afternoon.

I think the white looks cool but you could always paint the plinth if you want a different color.

I didn't know BB sold Project stuff, didn't see any online. Our closest store is 50 miles away, but as it happens I was heading that way tomorrow anyway, maybe I'll stop in.

Good score with the Pro-Ject Debut III. I've been calling around to the local Best Buys by me that have a Magnolia store and they don't have the Pro-Ject Debut III's in stock. I had them check their in-store stock and their computers. What an ordeal. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The associates told me they have been deleted from their systems. One of the associates had no idea they even sold TTs. Another BB I had to call back 3 times before I could get someone in the Magnolia section to help me and they didn't have the Debut III's in stock anymore.

Now on Audiogon though I'm seeing a couple of white Pro-Ject Debut III's going for $275 to $299 + shipping. I'm very skeptical now when I see a white Debut III go up for sale as they could be someone trying to fetch a quick profit.

Thanks Jedinite, the Knoxville TN store had 1 left, new in box, on Friday. They also had the display model that they might even sell for less than $99. Did you try them? You're right about BB's service though, it is pretty sad.

The Project Debut III turntable that Best Buy had on clearance was white and I didn't like the look at home so I just painted it. Here are some pictures.

Thanks, It's a kind of metallic gray. It seems to make a nice contrast against the black platter and tone arm.
