Hi all, Lonnie and I wanted to give you a little something to dream about over the weekend! Here are some features and images of the new UMC-200. This is a very sweet sounding and capable 7.1 AV processor with an extensive feature set. It's very easy to use and set up, and at the same time, if you want to get freaky with it, it has some really deep features. It's small but mighty. Unlike some units in it's class, it is not a toy. It is an audiophile caliber unit, and a worthy replacement for the UMC-1. Available for purchase 11/21 Retail: $699.00 Holiday sale price: $599.00 With upgrade certificate $419.40 Features · Dual Cirrus® 32-bit dual-core floating-point DSPs . · Decoding support for Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, DTS, DTS ES,DTS HD, DTS HD Master Audio, DTS Neo:6, SPDIF, PCM 8 channel (note: some audio formats are only supported via HDMI) · Comprehensive control via OSD (on screen display). · Advanced Emo-Q Gen2™ automatic multi-channel room correction and loudspeaker setup. · Flexible quad bass management. · Eleven user-programmable parametric equalizers (per channel). · Selectable 12db or 24db per octave high pass and low pass crossover filters. · 4 stereo analog audio inputs. · 2 Toslink and 2 Coax digital audio inputs. · 7.1 channel pure analog direct input. · Bluetooth 3.0 support (full CD quality with apt-X) · Supports two extra zones (besides main zone). · Balanced and unbalanced subwoofer output. · 4 HDMI 1.4 video inputs and one HDMI 1.4 output. · Full HDMI 1.4 support, including 3D, CEC, and ARC. · Responsive video switching via an AD 7623 transceiver/switch with Xpressview™ switching. · Video-On-Standby. · Last selected video and last selected input memory features.

Dan, does the OSD/menu look the same as the UMC-1? Or did you guys create a new one?
Also, could you maybe explain how EmoQ 2 differs from the first gen?
Oh, and I'd love to see pics of the remote and microphone.
Thanks, and keep up the great work.

Any chance of Advanced Emo-Q Gen2™ automatic multi-channel room correction and loudspeaker setup being in a firmware update for the UMC-1?

This looks great! Here's to a successful launch and reception by your customers. I'm still holding out for the XMC-1, but I will be pouring over the product page on Monday. Very much looking forward to reading the feedback about this new product. Oh, the UMC-200 seems to be lower profile than the UMC-1. Just compare the distance between the screws on the side trim...I could swear my UMC-1 has a longer "U" indention between the screws.

I love the addition of the headphone jack, and the microphone jack being in the front is a whole lot better. Good thinking there!

Yeah, I noticed the headphone jack too. Very smart and it's a nice feature to have. +1 about the mic in the front. EDIT: So, Pauly, are you getting one? You seem to be pretty excited about it.

I think I probably will. I've been wanting the XMC, but I just don't need everything it offers. I don't watch enough TV and movies to justify it. If the 200 doesn't have any handshake issues, and if EmoQ 2 works pretty well, then this will be everything I need in a processor.

I really like that there is no video processing and only switching, as well as the "video-on-standby" feature.

It would be nice to know the difference with the 200 and the 500 so customers could decide if they want to wait or not. It would suck to wait for the 500 but end up only needing the 200 and missing the sale.

I'd like to know how the FW updates are handled as well. Same as UMC-1?

There is a new USB loader that is extremely robust and operates with 100/% reliability. It is a completely new unit, with a VERY stable system architecture. It just works. Also, it's fully automated. It's smart, and knows what to put where. Very sweet.
We're very pleased with the performance of this unit and we think you will be too.
We are not disclosing any details on other products that may or may not be in development at this time. Cheers, Big Dan
