In my previous setup (900sqft apt, 15x20 living room), my Aperion 12D was awesome. Could not have been happier with how it kicked me in the chest during movies. However, in my new condo, I can't seem to get it to repeat that performance. Things sound great for music, but when in HT, I feel it lacks. The room is considerably bigger (25x25), seating distance has increased (from 10' to 15') and the placement is different (no room to place at the front of the room like before...currently placed behind me). I don't know much about the vast possibilities re: sub placement, tuning, etc., so I'm looking for guidance. Some options as I see it: - get a second 12D - get rid of the 12D and get a new single sub - get rid of the 12D and get new dual subs - EQ the sub - move it again - other While I like the sub, I liked how it treated movies in the smaller space more. Not looking for volume...looking for impact. Advice on how to get back to that point? Thanks in advance. PJ EDIT: Is my question the same as this one? emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=subwoofeers&action=display&thread=9499Or more importantly...is the answer the same (just get a second one and call it a day)? lol

Yes, your question appears to be the same as the other link you posted. First thing to consider is, is the sub in the optimal location in your new room? If you have no equipment to measure responses, i suggest putting your sub in your listening position and crawl around the room until it sounds best to you. Then simply place the sub in that location. You could supplement it with a second identical sub, which will give you slight increase in output, but more importantly, help even out room nodes and cancel some room anomalies. If the sub you have isn't cutting it you could try to upgrade as you mentioned, or get a sub with dual drivers. I have a dual 13 inch sealed sub that rocks my world. I am happier than I ever thought possible. And, I bought it as a kit and built it myself, for slightly over half it's listed MSRP assembled from the manufacturer. You can take a look at it here..... emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=diy&action=display&thread=6368
