Man I wish you'd taken a few pictures, I'd like to see what those look like. Just kidding. Interesting how closely the Marantz and Parasound match cosmeticly. Are you selling your Kavent mono amps?

Thanks so much guys for your kind words.
DYohn, I am not selling the Kavent Monoblocks yet. I am going to compare both monoblocks once I get the New Speakers and see which one of the two will sound better with the Marantz gear.

Wow. I'm not a big fan of silver gear but the stuff you have is gorgeous. If it sounds half as good as it looks, it should be awesome.
What is the small black box on the lower center shelf of your rack?

Hi Matt, Thruthfully the only two pieces that are silver are the Parasound Halo JC1 Monoblocks. The Marantz Reference Gear has what Marantz calls a Champagne Color to them. If you look cosely at the pictures of both units in the audio rack you will notice that they have a very light gold color to them. The back box that you see under the Marantz Preamplifier is a RGPC 400 Pro, RGPC 400 Pro " Fits conveniently behind an equipment rack, either upright or on its side Contains one 6,000 Watt parallel choke for continuous high performance regardless of power line limitations Non-sacrificial dual stage surge protection for long lasting protection that does not wear out Non-current limiting noise removal for uncompromised performance Eliminate intercomponent “cross talk” 20-amp IEC cord for use with today’s high-powered amplifiers and digital devices Place an RGPC 400 Pro on each circuit that is serving home entertainment gear to receive the benefits of RGPC’s parallel power delivery " Here is the link, www.richardgrayspowercompany.com/products.aspx

Holy sh** Carlos...that's incredible.
Your sig isn't there...what are your speakers?
I mean, the Marantz and Parasound, that must be what, $10-$15 k worth of gear?? Could grand for the cables.
So you still have your Onkyo for your 5.1 setup??

Yes I still have the Onkyo PR-SC5508 Processor and the Onkyo PA-MC5500.
Between the Marantz Reference Gear and the Parasound Halo JC1 monoblocks you are talking somewhere a little over $15K,
And the Acoustic Zen Cables a little over $3K
Not Counting my New Tyler Acoustics Custom Made Speakers which will cost me a little over $9K+.
Each Speaker uses 2- 10" Seas Aluminiun/magnesium alloy woofers and each woofer cost me $353.00. The extremely stiff cone made from aluminium/magnesium alloy gives tremendous bass precision.
Each Speaker also uses 2- 8" SEAS Excel W22EX-001 (E0022) 8" magnesium Cone Woofer which cost $250 each woofer
and Each Speaker uses 1- 1"SEAS Excel T25CF-002 (E0011) Millennium Tweeter which cost $235.00
and each crossover has a Mundorf 10.0 mfd Silver-Gold-Oil Caps Madisound# MSGO-10.0 which cost $315.00 each.
I should be getting delivery of the speakers within the next two weeks. It takes around 8 weeks to build these speakers. Ty at Tyler Acoustics started building them the last week of January and he called me last Friday to let me know that they should be ready by this coming Friday.

Well I was pretty close How did you decide on those speakers? For that price range, theres a whole world of nice speakers. They sound great, just curious. Did you buy all your gear from the same place? Amps, speakers etc? Were you able to audition it all first? Were you using another type of cable before the acoustic zen? Just wondering if you noticed an upgrade. I see a system like yours 1 or 2 upgrades down the road , or sooner if I win the lottery

I purchased the Marantz SACD Player and the Parasound Halo JC1 Monoblocks from the same Authorized dealer.
The Marantz Preamplifier I bought it from Another Authorized dealer because this dealer gave me a better price than the first dealer for the Preamplifier.
I have used all kinds of High End cables in my 12+ years as an audiophile from names such as Nordost,Cardas,MIT,Transparent,Audioquest,Kimber,Harmonic Technology,Siltech,Analysis Plus,Tara Labs and Stealth Audio and no Other Cable has been able to give me the transparecy, best bass extension, and to sound as natural as the Acoustic Zen Cables.
I have been using them for over 8 years and I will not look at another cable that it is not Acoustic Zen.
The reason that I decided on the Tyler Acoustic Speakers is because Tyler Lasbrook make one of the best speakers out there period. They are all hand made and even the production speakers use very good drivers. His speakers can compete toe to toe with speakers costing 3 to 4 times what he charges.
The reason for this is that Ty does not sell to dealers. He sells directly to the customer therefore keeping the overhead cost down and not charging mark up prices because of dealers.
If he was to put into production the custom speakers that he is making for me the cost will be around $12K and that will be the direct price from Tyler Acoustics. If he was to sell the same exact speakers thru a dealer the price will be at least close to $18K.
To get a Speaker that uses the same drivers, crossovers and caps that he is using in my Custom Made Speakers I will have to pay over $25K or more.
The few Speakers that come close to have more or less the same drivers as mine are the $25K Von Schweikert VR-5SE,The $28K Wilson Watt Puppy or the $34K Avalon Eidelon Diamond to name a few.

Thanks RPA-1. I am waiting for Emotiva to ship to me the new XSP-1 Preamplifier which is a replacement to my old RSP-2 that I sent to Emotiva in January 2010 to be repair but since Emotiva didn't made anymore the part needed to repair my unit they decided to send me the New XSP-1 as a replacement as soon as it will become available!
I know that I can't expect the XSP-1 to be better than my $6.5K Marantz SC-7S2 Preamplifier but I will like to see how it will integrate with my new system.
Will keep you guys posted.

Thanks RPA-1. I am waiting for the new Emotiva Preamplifier XSP to come out to also connect it to my system and try out. I know it will not be better than the $7K Marantz SC-7S2 Preamplifier but I will like to see how it will sound with my new system. Will keep you guys posted. Can't wait for that. I'm very curious, as I'm sure many here are, to read your impressions of how the two pre's compare. Enjoy your new system. Wish I was in New York to give it a listen.
