Well, 2 different faceplates were shown for the XPR-5. One looked like the XPA-5 only taller and the other was a new design. I personally liked the new design, it was elegant and understated with vertical ridges that were softly illuminated with Emotiva blue LEDs.
Anyway, given that the faceplate decision is not final, it could be a month or more away. If I were in the market for amps, I'd opt for the XPA-5 + XPA-2 combo. YMMV of course.

I was told most of the new products will be for sale in late December early January. Which includes the XPR-5

Do you mean it's not certain that the XPR-5 is going to look like the "pro" line? I abolutely LOVE the new design! THAT is how a $2K piece of gear is supposed to look... Attachments:

If I recall correctly, Dan said the original look was locked in through 2012. The new design was there to get feedback from the field.
I think almost everyone loves the new look, but you also have to understand the desire to provide equipment that matches what everyone already has.

I absolutely loved the look of the new front. since we first saw it at Emofest, my gf and I refer to the XPR as the "sexytime amp". ¯\(°_O)/¯
I seriously cannot wait for these to release.

While I too found the XPR-5 to be quite sexy, I don't know if I'll be able to justify buying it already having the XPA-5 and having the XPA-2 delivered tomorrow, (thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking)................................Then again I've never needed a reason to upgrade, so what the he!! ;D

I agree 100%,the new look is great but if given a choice I would go with the current look to mach my curently owned equipment.

I won't be buying the xpr-5 until it looks like the sexy one in the pics.

I'm with you N8. I'm not ashamed to say that if I were to upgrade from my XPA-5, it would be because of the XPR's looks.

You know an amp looks good when people start making sexual innuendos about them lol.

LOL. IMO they are one of the nicest amps I've seen that I could actually afford. could you imagine showing off your gear with 7 xpr-1's? You'd have a eye/eargasim for sure!
