I was a professional Firefighter/Paramedic. I may have retired, but I still have a few friends in the industry. Last night Lifeguard 4 came out for a meet and greet with the local volunteer department where I live. On their way home, one of my buds snapped a few pictures. That is me and my replacement standing in the yard. Attachments:

I am a lucky man. Sometimes I forget how much so.
My Son will hopefully become more than just another ditch doctor. The fire service is a great career, but I want more for him.
I built this house myself. It took me twenty months, I slept on a cot in the basement with a dirt floor as soon as I got sheeting on the floor above me. Every minute that I was not at the firehouse I was working on the house. I have been living out here for a little more than ten years and just about have everything done (Ha).

Thank you. Country living has a few drawbacks though. It is ten miles of dirt road to the pavement and twelve more to town. A real WAF approval mall is 100 miles to Denver. But if you are a "do it yourselfer" this is the place to be.
