Last night we attended a live concert in Zellerbach Theater at University of Pennsylvania. The group was Alarm Will Sound! and they played music of Steve Reich ... most notably the hour long piece "Music for 18 Musicians". On the stage were four grand pianos, six xylophones/marimbas, violin, cello, two woodwinds (clarinet, bass clarinet) and four vocalists. It was relentless and mesmerizing. Here's a video of a different group playing the complete piece.
And if you look on Apple Music you'll find a Dolby Atmos version by Colin Currie Group.
As a drummer, my reaction was that the guy who had to play only the eighth note up-beats for an hour had the hardest ever job in music! He must have been a Buddhist monk!

Currently jamming to Jazz at the Pawn Shop. Via Apple Music. For once, a classic hasn't been ruined by compression and remixes. It's soft, smooth, and so enjoyable.
