I've seen all channel stereo come up on the UMC-1 before but if I just have an ipod to RCA connection and hit the "mode" button it doesn't come up. The only options are... Stereo Direct PLII Neo 6 DSP
Is there a way to get all channel stereo with an analog input?
I've also noticed that if I watch youtube videos on my PS3 that is hooked up to the UMC-1 via HDMI that my sub doesn't work many times, only a small portion of the videos do. I tried scrolling through "mode" again while a video was playing and it often still wouldn't come on, any ideas?

I would recommend using direct with your iPod to avoid and extra analog to digital to analog conversion.
For HDMI avoid direct as this will bypass bass management. Usually stereo works best for YouTube via HDMI.
Dave.

Try PLII to get a simulated surround.

I used to notice that PLII and NEO have an echo sound to it. I haven't done any long listening in that mode with the UMC-1 though. What's the main difference between NEO and PLII?

Let me ask this, in a party setting do you guys typically use PLII or Neo:6 for taking an analog source into 5.1? I think PLII sounds a touch better but wanted other opinions.
Thanks

So there isn't a feature such as Onkyo's "all channel stereo" that takes an analog two channel source and brings it into all 5 channels? No. "All Channel Stereo" on the UMC-1 is, and has been, a misnomer. It's only function on the UMC-1 is to overlay EQ and bass management to a Multi-Channel PCM source stream. The default setting for M-PCM is "Direct", which is what it states. There is no channel "matrixing" involved with ACS and is not a "party mode" as the name would imply. Hope this helps...

Thanks PLII "Music" would be your best "sounding" option and gives you flexibility (center width and depth) that Neo:6 does not. Hope this helps...

Wow, that does like nice. Currently I am just using the headphone output (I know, worst quality) to a long pair of Stinger shielded twisted RCA's. That way I can have the ipod all the way to the couch where people are sitting. I used to use a dock and came out of the digital bottom port for a while but it was really touchy and moving it slightly would make it cut in and out. Displaying the audio selections on TV and having a remote to control the dock would be great.
