OK, who's gonna be the first to buy a couple of these bad boys and post a review so I know what I'm gonna replace my XPA-2 with?
In November, I was all ready to get a set of XPA-1's and the DAY BEFORE I was going to place my order, I catch wind of these babies. So I buy the XPA-2 to get me by for a few months. I can't wait for a review on these.
Come on who's going first? Garbulky?
P.S.
How come there isn't a pre-order list for these amps?

Its been a long time for me getting back into this hobby I was away from it of over 15 years and I can say Emotiva has made getting back into this hobby a whole lot more fun. Interesting. I can't say it's been 15 years for me, but the prior fifteen years were kinda tight financially for me. The money I did have went to home theater since the whole family can enjoy that. My two channel suffered and really dwindled down until it was only a coule mid-fi products integrated into my theater, albiet with some Magnepan 1.6 mains. Late last year I started putting together a stand alone stereo in it's own room. I've been enjoying music more than I have since the 80's. Nothing wrong with my XPA-2. Great amp actually. I simply want something there strong enough, and special enough, that I won't look back for a couple decades. XPA-1? XPR-2? XPA-1L? Never had monoblocks. Never had, or even heard, a class A amp. I'm interested...

The XPA-2 runs in Class A for up to around 10 watts, which is possibly a lot of the time when you are listening at lower volumes. The XPA 1L simply increases that to 35 watts, which is quite loud. Up until recently I had a 25 watts per channel Class A only stereo amp and it had plenty of volume, so 35 watts would be nice. Then flick the switch for HT Class AB, it's a win win as far as I am concerned.
Cheers Gary

They took a page from the Gmail system, eh? The ticker is always counting, always increasing. Smart move. Luckily, the new Emotiva amplifiers have a built-in auto-update utility. Every night at 2:05 AM, they connect to the Emotiva HQ server (located in a porta-potty behind the warehouse). The updater utility downloads more Class A amps to your amp. So the 13.7295 figure will only be valid for almost another 2 hours. Thankfully, tomorrow morning your amp will have 0.0015 more amps for a grand total of 13.731 Class A amps. This is real added value, folks.

The XPA-2 runs in Class A for up to around 10 watts, Cheers Gary All sarcasm aside, somewhere in this thread somebody quotes Lonnie as saying the XPA-1 does 10 watts class A, the XPA-2 "about a watt", and the others less than a watt. I'd be nice if Emotiva posted this info. Pass Labs does.

geez, this place is oozing with sarcasm! This is what happens during the lulls between new product releases. It's not pretty, but it helps us cope while we wait for new gear. ;D So if my calculations are correct we're now up over 1500 Class A watts from a 300 watt amplifier, nice feature! Indeed! I have no idea how Lonnie does it, but we've always known that Emotiva's amps are conservatively rated. Now we have undeniable and irrevocable proof of these claims. wow i just listen to my 1st amp.. the xpa 3 tonight was very impressed and happy.. i am now an amp addict! i need more.. really looking forward to seeing the specs and prices.... for this new amp xpa 1 L.. wonder if i will be as impressed or are virgins more impressable? You had me at impressible virgins! OK, to be serious for a moment, there will be less of a jump from your great XPA-3 to the XPA-1L compared to the jump from your previous component to the XPA-3. It may not be a night-and-day difference for you this time. Yes, this new amplifier brings many good things to the table, just be sure it's what you're looking for beyond more power handling. Here's my quick-n-dirty list of reasons the XPA-1L is on my wish list: - 30-35 watts of Class A quality and performance - a fully-balanced ( Differential Reference) Emotiva mono-block in a 2RU chassis - user-selectable operation between Class A or A/B (within thermal parameters) - enough power and headroom that it could be "the last amp I ever need" - a fancy dinner with Salma Hayek included with every pair of amps purchased* *special thanks to chuckienut and Big Dan for arranging this option. Limited supplies available. Subject to substitution with a reward of equal or lesser value. Void where prohibited by law.

Sarcastic? Us? Never...
Seriously though...as I recall, Lonnie has said the existing x's go to around 10-15 watts Class A. Dan was saying lower at Emofest. So unless they publish a spec we won't know. In any case the 1L is more class A and can be held there...within limits.
