Hello. I bought an XRef12 a couple months ago. Of late I have noticed a mild hiss or high pitch sound coming through when it is in sleep mode. I notice this usually at nights and when there is no other sound around. I can notice the sound from a few feet away.
I believe that the XRef goes into a sleep mode or similar when not being played. During this time, is this hiss sound expected? Could you share your experience?
One of my concern besides the sound is if it is consuming power when not being played and if I need to physically turn it on/off every time.
Thanks.

It is the power supply, making the noise. It is typical of any SMPS under very little load. Mine does the same and yes it bugs me! It will be using very little power.

That sucks. My old KLH Ported 10" sub makes this sound when plugged in and off. My Epik Legend on standby makes no such noises.
