Other than filling up any holes, more evenly dispersed base,etc, I wanted to know if having dual subwoofers equals lower frequency? What I mean by that is not the subwoofers themselves producing lower frequency but the overall base response produced by both subwoofers.

No, not at all. Multiple drivers equals higher dbSPL.

Thanks another question: does woofer size affect transparency... I read on a forum that larger woofers in general are more transparent sounding

no , it's how you integrate it into your system depends how transparent it will be , like how well you cross over to your main speakers and placement etc..
