I own 6 Emotiva amps + one of their DAC units.
I'm diving deeper into the Emo pool with the purchase of an X-Ref 12. My justifications for doing so are:
1. My 2-ch system needs a woofer 2. My eD sub plate amp is broke...again...
I'll use the X-Ref with the HT/Audio system and re-purpose the eD sub for the 2-ch system after the amp is repaired or replaced.
So for you X-Ref subwoofer owners out there, what tricks and tips would you offer for setup?
What about the Auto On feature...does it cause the woofer to turn off and on at low listening levels?
Anyway, I am looking forward to trying this one out!

My XREF-12 seems to work fine with regards to turn on/turn off. It's a great performer, too. Not as deep as some of the larger vented enclosures, but very tight and musical. My goal is to eventually get another to replace my Ultra 12.

Thanks for the info!
I'm not looking for house shaking bass. Most of the use will be for music listening plus a few movies now and then. I'm sure I'll get most, if not all, the bass I want from it.

Anyway, I am looking forward to trying this one out! Geebo is right, I am very much enjoying my Xref subs. Regarding the auto-on feature: I have to say that at low levels they do not always turn on but that is usually when watching a TV show or movie that doesn't have much low frequency stuff to begin with. They always turn on when listening to music. The best tip I can offer for setup is to make sure to place the sub in the optimum location in the room. That beats any sort of EQ method. Good luck to you!
