Hello,
I currently have a UPA-1 Monoblock running a Paradigm Studio cc 570 v.3 center channel.
I just bought a cc-690 and will be getting it in about a week!
My question is, do you guys think the UPA-1 will have enough power to take full advantage of the Paradigm CC-690 V.5?
Any thoughts?
Thanks Again

I had a UPA-1 with my CC570 too and it was more than enough juice. When I upgraded to my Denon 4311 I opted to get rid of a dedicated amp for the center channel and haven't looked back. I don't see the 690 being much different at all. I crank my multichannel recordings and the center was never even close to stressed when I had the amp. I know paradigm aren't that inefficient so you should me more than fine.

I concur that the UPA-1 will drive your 'Digm CC just fine.

Thanks Again Hi Krazystang, If the attached pic of my system is anything to go by, I'm sure you'll find the UPA-1's are capable of driving just about anything. I've had mine for about a year now and consider them to be among the best amplifiers I have ever owned. WPM

I switched from inbuilt amps on my sr7005 avr to a upa-1 after I got my xpa1s. I also went and biamped the cc690 with two upa-1s. Felt the bass tightened up considerably and transients for gunshots and collisions was much more realistic. Probably be looking into an xpa-5 eventually though and getting a pre-pro.

I set mine to large, I seem to be able place explosions better in the mix. The cc690 is amazing, really. You will love it. Certainly digs deep. I find all my paradigms sound better set to large actually. And the sub only gets signals below 40hz. I'd try it out at least! Transformers dark of the moon is a good demo of centre channel capabilities.
