Sounds good Doug. I won't be easy to reach until next month but I'll be back on the forum in time. Just a heads up. BTW I borrowed an Oppo BDP-105 and it is WAY better than my audio card, which was no slouch. Enjoy your soon to be new Emotiva gear I am anxious to hear about it!

I got my money, will be placing my order in the next day or two. Want to take my time and get my shopping list together. Nothing more irritating than placing a order, then realizing you forgot something that cost less than the shipping. Where are you going? A month wtf.

Yes all my stuff from Emotiva and Partsexpress will be here tomorrow. There was a delay time on Emo. I requested they bench test the UMC 200 to make sure everything is working properly. Also check make sure all the current firmware is installed before shipping it. Hope you had a great time on the waters.

That is awesome that they filled that request, +10 Emotiva! Thanks, I had a great time, it was a bit warm however, my body is not fond of heat like many people are, haha. I literally spent all day reading about acoustic treatments and foam/DIY with fiberglass, etc. Did you say you had done some treatment, my memory is a bit faint atm. -Tyler

Finally got all my stuff! Was supposed to be here last Fri. It finally arrived Tuesday, that actually ended being ok. I have been sick this week,(walking pneumonia) , I believe. I have been working every day, but going to bed or falling asleep on the couch an hour or 2 after I get home. Hoping to start tearing components out tomorrow and hook it up Sat morning.

This UMC 200 is frickin awesome. Crystal clear, I hear stuff (background noises/ vocals, etc)that I have never heard before. Even the radio is night and day difference. I will never go back to an AVR again, even as a pre-amp. It's awesome I buy a new preamp and it't like I got new speakers along with it. All I can say right now is "WOW"!!

I had a feeling it would be really good! That is great news for sure! I made some headway as well. I read up on toe in and toe out and apparently people have used toe in in two different ways and I had been using an incorrect definition this entire time (I think). I moved my chair back in the room so that I could test run the front L and R toe in and toe out with a chance for more separation sitting further. It sounded better the new way, even with EQ disabled and not retuned up yet. I had been crushing the sound stage and it was too centralized for everything up to this point. I now hear more to the sides of the speakers and the voices are still centered beautifully. I redid the EQ, phew wow good change again. I changed all of my speaker aim directions, and redid all EQ for the new seating position, and everything fell together, and it sounds better than the theater in town, which is marked as the best theater in the state. I definitely got more bass sitting back further but in a good way. I am hoping to venture into room treatment, as I recently gathered info and learned how to read decay times on frequencies. It is viewed on a waterfall graph (frequency response over time.) An initial flat frequency response still can have issues in its form of dying off when produced, due to the room. Hundreds of milliseconds later the room can clobber the flat frequency response as the room tweaks it around. You then use absorption or diffusors to treat what part of the frequency got uneven later in the decay (decay rate is faster as well). Waterfall graph shows you what you need to know, and can be done in REW Room EQ Wizard gikacoustics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/decay_article_before.jpggikacoustics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/decay_article_after.jpg

I'm glad everything is working out good for you and congratulations on your new setup. I am taking it slow with my new setup. This UMC 200 is awesome but, not real user friendly compared to a 13yr. old AVR. No dials, or real buttons on the front of it. Theres not even a bass or treble adjustments. All bass and treble adjustments have to be done on the (5)- 11 band equalizers. Everything is menu, sub-menu and sub-sub menu. I have been spending most of my spare time measuring square footage and trying to pick out new flooring for our whole down stairs and the bathroom up stairs of our house. Also been researching and trying to pick out a new TV for our living room. Plus spent the last 2 weekends replumbing the sewer drain system on my neighbors house (for free) arg. Well gotta go. Oh yea, did I mention this new system sounds awesome.
