Hey Mike, did you realize your TT is a little to the right? But seriously, that's one beautiful system.

It is unclear from the manual whether the subs are indeed left/right or whether they are just separately EQed. They are called out as sub1/sub2. Anyone know? I will likely wait for the XMC-1 regardless... It has to come out some day Thanks Are you talking about EQing them separately for music or movies? In theory I have 4 subs, but 2 of them are stacked with my front L/R as large so I can adjust them independently for music. The other 2 are split off the single sub out for LFE for watching movies. Do they split the LFE signal to L/R in surround sound? This thing needs a projector screen!! That TV looks like computer monitor.

Stereo subs may have some benefit for 2 channel listening but for HT use the LFE signal going to dual sub outputs is the same. The only difference is if the pre-pro or AVR has the ability to apply LF room correction to each output independently. For HT use this is not really a detriment as long as you take some care in placement of multiple subs and the RCS system you are implementing does a good job with EQ of frequencies below 80Hz. For me that is really the fifteen hundred dollar question for Tact as it will be implemented in the ready for prime time version of the XMC-1.

This thing needs a projector screen!! That TV looks like computer monitor. That was my thinking too... a sonicly transparent screen that pulls down in front would be AWESOME!

That is a very good-looking system! In this case, the silver side panels on the Emo gear match up perfectly with the silver trim on the speaks - very nice!! Just imagine how great it would be with a 70" flat panel TV sitting 'tween those speaks....

I understand being able to EQ the two subs independently to the room even if it is the same signal how they react will be different based on location. Not sure where my head was at when I asked the question.
Thanks for the kind words on the system.
My two av upgrades planned are the XMC-6000 and a 70+ inch TV. Even my wife thinks the 52 inch TV is too small. Which will come first, I'm not sure. The room is too small and has too many windows and glass sliders for a projection setup, so a large LED will most likely be the best option.
Yes, after I took the pic I realized the TT was off center... Doh!
The TV is as low as it can go while still being able to see the whole screen from the seating area while keeping the tweeters at ear level which was the main priority.
Did you find the Oppo?

Is that the oppo on top of the left top EMO box? With full height silver side panels?
I love how the legs on the cabinetry line up with the EMO gear. Classy!

Do they split the LFE signal to L/R in surround sound? The way I am used to having stereo subs with a proper 7.2 processor (which as discussed are rare) and assuming your other speakers are "small", is that the bass from the left front and left surround only goes to the left sub. Bass from the right front and right surround goes to the right sub. Front center and rear center if present get evenly split between the two as does LFE. Since these are two separate channels presumably they would have separate EQs, but I don't use EQ. I am not sure what the Denon is doing. The manual is not clear (to me). It could be operating as above, it could also be sending the left and right info to both subs just as a mono sub output would, but the two channels are EQed separately. Note that mega buck configurable processors can have huge numbers of channels. The most I have seen is 10.4.

A great symmetry you've achieved Mike .The 1st thing i looked for was the oppo ;all I could see was emo then you mentioned it so aha it must be there Very clever use of the rack mounts to sit it above the xda1

Yes it is, The Oppo has no vents on the bottom and the XDA-1 has no vents on the top and when I removed the Oppo's feet they fit together like a glove. I bought the 2RU trim pieces from another member a few years ago for just this reason. As for the feet, the cabinet was built for the gear so I figured, why not line them up. It was that or paint them black. The real problem is the XMC is 3RU and the UMC is 2RU so when I get it I'll have to do something differently.

I don't like it when it's on a .5, I want it on 33 or 34 not 33.5.

Mmm, I do the same thing. I may be worse as I use even numbers. 36 and 38 but not 37.
I didn't realise I had this problem until now.
Dave.
