If someone made a remote with an actual tactile volume knob, I would be so all over it! Maybe even a little side dial, like the old walkman volume controls, but bigger, smoother, and notchy like the XSP-1 knob. Please . The Samsung remote app looks sweet, BTW.

I wouldn't knock the remote too much. It is for a CE product, after all. I would think it isn't typically meant for the end user. They would more likely than not have a universal remote programmed by the installer. I would venture to say the included remote is mainly for programming/troubleshooting issues and less for actual use.

All of mine are in a drawer and never come out unless I need to program something that isn't included in the remote database.

what is Fully balanced 7.1 channel outputs and balanced outputs? outputs with outputs??? typo?
on a side note, it contains conflicting info on the product's page, i can see physically there are two sub outs but they use the terms 7.2 and 7.1 on the same page.
thanks, wps

It gets interesting looking at the back panel where it says 7.1 out for the unbalanced with 10 rca's including 2 subs and 2 cc's With the typo maybe a poorly worded attempt @ differentiation between the true balanced circuitry [unlike some integra's which had single unbalanced to xlr ] and the xlr connectors themselves - not fully balanced duplicated circuitry like the rmc1 i hasten to add ..

what is Fully balanced 7.1 channel outputs and balanced outputs? I'm pretty sure that its a typo that's suppose to read: Fully balanced 7.1 channel outputs and unbalanced outputs. Still not grammatically correct.

It even comes up as Rotel if you connect to the Bluetooth. It is also reported that people are using the Rotel manual, as it is a little more informative than the Sherbourn one Who made the amp, I do not know though... Does it indicate which model of Rotel? I have the 1572 and love it, though I hated the 1066!!!!

Jade Designs made the Sherbourn and the Rotel... -RW- I would be very interested in getting your facts on this one. I am attending a session with the reps from Equity Audio, the distributor (North America) for Rotel and it would be very handy to have this as hard proof when I am talking to them. So if you have proof...send it along!!!

If you are curious I would just ask them if Jade designs provides (or previously provided) any OEM work for them. That will give you your answer, no?

He made a statement and I asked for some solid proof. I have managed to get Equity to do discounts to the local dealer for items I have purchased in the past, so if it is "close" to the same design it would give me a stronger argument. So, in actuality, Rotel (Equity the distributor) does adjust their pricing occasionally in a one off situation but only directly to the local dealer which is then passed on to the specific buyer. Is there a problem with that?

Jade Designs made the Sherbourn and the Rotel... -RW- Jade Design does not make Rotel products. Rotel is an OEM contractor for Sherbourn on the PT-7030. The PT-7030 uses a Rotel sourced Bluetooth module, and some PCB sub-assemblies. Apparently, some of the BT modules were sent with improper programming. They should display Sherbourn when connected. The PT-7030 is a highly modified variant of a Rotel OE decoder platform, specifically optimized for the CI market. It is assembled in our factory not Rotel's. And by the way, it is a fantastic product! Rotel is not involved with any other Sherbourn or Emotiva models. Sorry guy's, no big conspiracies here. Cheers, Big Dan

No worries boys.
Rotel does a lot of very high quality OEM work. They are a great company, and even nicer people. You can see their see their name inside some of the hi end Oppo BD players. Sweet.

Hello all. Recently registered on and look forward to any reviews on the PT-7030 compared to the UMC-200. I'm on the fence as to which to upgrade from my 5 year old Onkyo PR-SC885P.

Hi Andrew,
Any idea when your review will be posted? I'm interested in the PT-7030 and would like to take advantage of the $500 promotion that is being offered for buying more than $1500 in Sherbourn products. Thanks in advance.
