This is more of an "impressions" review from an avid listener. XPR-2 this amp really should be left to idle a few days to get rid of the burn in odor. I am using it to drive Maggie 1.7s it is crossed over at 45 Hz's with active 12th order butterworth when signal goes though multiprocessor rack ( Zoom RFX-2200, super x pro, ultra curve pro, ultra mizer pro, s-com plus) and Crown cts 600, b52 us4000 for subs. When using without subs: Jaton RC2000S pre, or direct SCHIIT Audio DAC I REALLY Like this amp! at low volume it does not move the indicators crank it up and the Maggies use all the headroom it has and the sound is fabulous! I compared it to Bryston 4B, Forte 1A, Parasound 1200 ll and it combines the best traits of each: Wide spacious defined staging, open airy highs great low end control, no harsh sibilance or plosives just refined accurate sound. Tried it with different pres- modded Dyna PAS, Modded Superphon, Modded PSAudio all retained their signature sound. The XPR-2 is exactly what the Maggies want, the ring of the triangle, chime of bells cymbal clash is extended and beautiful Piano is vibrant and captivating. Those that assume Maggies don't Rock well get a XPR-2 and unleash the madness ;D I love this amp it just sounds good Thanks Emotiva!
