Hello,
I am new to this forum. I have been a lover of music and its production all my life. Unfortunately, cost and choices have hindered my ability to explore this arena further than I have. When I was much younger, I saved up to get a decent set of mid-fi speakers, a suitable preamplifier and an amplifier. I have been exploring emotiva and this forum for some time now in hopes of finally upgrading/replacing my system. The amplifier I purchased was a Carver M-400t Magnetic Field Power Amplifier. Seeing the news of the Jade Group/Emotiva joining forces with Bob Carver finally gave me something I may have in common with the company.
Although I doubt I will ever be able to purchase Mr. Carver's tube amplifiers, I am very intrigued with Emotiva's line of preamplifiers, amplifiers and possibly speakers. I can say for sure that my Carver "cube" has served me well for over 25 years with only one service call at the beginning of its service. The service was tremendous on that occasion and it has worked well ever since, although I am sure the years have taken its toll on its performance. Mr. Carver's ideas are similar to those of Emotiva's in my opinion. Everyone knows you can make a very expensive piece of equipment that performs well. Mr. Carver's and Emotiva's designers can do that as well. What I find most intriguing is that they also know they can build a quality component for much less and it will perform nearly as well, if not better. The fact that they have both dared to be different in this manner is appealing to me and I am grateful that it enables me to at least consider exploring high fidelity.
I wish emotiva , and Bob Carver, much continued success and I look forward to learning what high fidelity is really all about after dreaming for so long.
