I got up Monday morning only find my dayton audio DTA 100a was dead.I loved that dam thing when it was working right.Very small,Vol.Knob $75 on sale. The sound was the best part.Alot better then i thought it would be.It lasted about 4mo.And this was the second one the first one lasted 2mo.If they got hold of QC on this thing they would have something. They could learn alot by looking at Emotiva gear. This is a desk top computer setup.Speakers are Bestbuy Insignias with my own crossovers and box mods.Ive got about $140 in them and they are also, alot better then you would think.Yes I am one those guys.Champagne taste Bushlite budget.Anyway,Knowing sunday night the summer sale was over.I pulled up Emotiva site. There it was, on the front page.Still on sale!!Called them up, they just had not updated the page yet.But would give me sale price anyway!!The guys says it be there tomorrow.I laughed,,your joking right? He was not. Free overnight shipping. At 1120am today, Fedex was at my door.He said one thing, (this is kind of heavy).I was very happy.Double box very nice, the Mini-x is no toy.Soild, heavy, nice looking.Love the Vol knob. The sound is alot differant then the dayton. Its Cear and powerful.Exposing my $50 USB DAC.This is some good stuff.Champagne on a beer budget.Heres to you Emotiva!!!

Hi jerky! Glad to hear you're enjoying the mini-X. I agree that it's a surprising little amp. It's one of my favorites. In fact, it was my first amp from Emotiva many moons ago, and I still use it with great results. There's nothing like real power, and the mini-X delivers it in spades. Champagne on a beer budget indeed. Thanks for sharing!

I'm happy you're enjoying your new amp! I had been following Emotiva for years before purchasing any of the products. The Mini-X was my first as well. I have it powering an older pair of Def Tech BP-X surrounds now hooked up to my laptop & ODAC for some great bedroom listening. They never sounded so good! If I could give one piece of advice, there is a bit of a channel imbalance at low volume levels. It isn't huge but it is noticeable to me and some others. So if you are going to be listening at lower levels, turn the volume up on the Mini-X and use the volume control on your PC or DAC. A small gripe indeed and easily circumvented. I love the size of it as well. I have my Mini-X on the floor tucked under my dresser. Plus, the LED on the knob makes for a great night light when you have two black cats that like to walk in between your feet & "accidentally" trip you up.

I would also add that after living with the dayton audio DTA 100a the last four or five months. The dayton would give me speaker thump when turned on. Also had a distinct hum when no music was playing. The Mini-X is dead quiet. Second day with the amp. I have been fighting a static noise while playing music with jriver for months. Its gone now! So far the Mini-x has solved a lot of problems for me. So all you guys out there with T amps with any of these problems. This amp is your salvation. The value/performance for money is off the chart.
