Just purchased the Oppo bdp 103 and was wondering the best way to hook it up with the UMC 200? Do I use 2 HDMI connects ? One direct to tv and the other to the 200 to let the Oppo do the video processing and the 200 to do the sound processing ? If so what particular setting in what menu or submenu on the 200 do I have to adjust to allow this to happen please? Thanks
You can do it either way, I have tried both and myself don't notice any difference, I have kept it connected 1 HDMI to my plasma and 1 HDMI to my PT-7030, in the 103 settings menu you choose Split A/V, can't remember exactly what part of the menu but if you through all the settings you will see it, I think in the video settings, yo won't need to cahnge any settings in the UMC-200.

I have the 95 but probably same menus. Use HDMI 1 for video/primary. It has the better video processor and use HDMI 2 for sound. I also have the 95 hooked to the 200 through analog (7.1) for 2 channel so the 95 does the processing.
The UMC-200 does pass through video, no processing, I have found zero picture difference connecting a 103 (or a 105) direct to the panel. So all of my video inputs go via the UMC-200.
I had the 103 connected via HDMI (HDMI 3 on the UMC-200 is already designated "Bluray").
I also had it connected via RCA for stereo to my USP-1. You might want to try the stereo RCA connection to the UMC-200, I didn't really notice any difference in the DAC's but you might. The 105, with its higher level DAC definitely sounds better (not night and day) connected via RCA for stereo.
