What an interesting engineering house you have.
My brother in law works for an outfit called Spartan Controls and I'm certain your IP is all over their linecard.
It's really neat to see materials, mechanical and electrical engineer being combined like that.
Your work reminds me a lot of aerospace outfits.
I'm curious what your thoughts are regarding Boeing basically killing their inhouse electronics division and outsourcing everything. It sure seems to have had a negative affect on the 787 that's for sure. I've also heard of issues on the MAX aircraft as well. Removing that talent from the company was a big mistake as they basically killed their expertise for prudent liaison with ODM/OEMs for subsystem design.

You guys make heaters, thermocouples/RTDs and sensors for semiconductor fabrication right? I bet you sell stuff to the aerospace industry as well. That's right, as well as other process equipment used in semi and flat panel (and LED) fabrication. NASA is (or maybe I should say "was" given recent budget cuts) one of our customers, as are Lockheed and Boeing. We manufacture products listed by UL and also that meet SEMI, CE, CSA, TUV, FDA. SAE, ANSi/ASTM and other specs. Do you guys make any vapor deposition process equipment? Have you ever heard of a man named Stan Ovshinsky? He was a brilliant materials scientist and a brilliant mechanical engineer. He designed a bunch of vapo deposition fab equipment to make these thin film flexible solar panels on a substrate 100s of meters long on each production run. He built this huge building to do it with these huge huge production machines but in the end he went broke and died. I'm not sure what has happen to his IP and equipment. I'm sure it's being white roomed as we speak in some far off land. Stan was the father of the NiMH battery and a fantastic person. Stan and his wife were both geniuses and will be sadly missed. If Stan and Bussard had lived another 10-20 years we might just have solved the energy/environmental crisis. Most fields are in essence pigeon holed/vocational in nature and these old school cross discipline engineers are a rare breed and much needed in the world.

We make components used in all sorts of PVD, CVD and ALD equipment made by several major OEMs. Yes, I've read about Stan Ovshinsky. Continuous run solar is an experimental process that was largely abandoned because of too low watt per dollar ratios. Still plenty of research going on in that area.

What is your take on Indium gallium zinc oxide IP from JST/Sharp? GROUND BREAKING IMHO! I can imagine it's affects will be well beyond FPD technology in the coming years. I'm really not all that familiar with Boeing's internal decisions, but I do know that similar decisions at some other companies did not end well while at others it works wonderfully. One of the things that my company does is contract engineering work. We have a large stable of some very talented engineers and we make a lot of money doing design work, so I actually applaud that trend since it helps pay my salary.

What is your take on Indium gallium zinc oxide IP from JST/Sharp? You know your stuff. IMO that's the technology that is going to make 4K displays affordable, if the instability and uniformity issues can be solved. Right now the yield is far too low but just give it time... It's being VERY diligently worked on at least one 60K system in Taiwan that I know of....

Their code for real differential or fully balanced is "quad differential". The amps are CE I believe and their opinion is a second certification is redundant. Yeah they are CE and though I'm no engineering expert that's for sure I do not question the safety of the design work after I pulled an amp apart. They even have bleeder resistors but I still discharge the bank when I checked out the design work. I feel neither of my questions were answered BTW. PS I was unaware UL's stamp "doesn't carry the significance it used to" considering after a house wide inspection of my electronics every one has the stamp less my Emo gear. Bro, if you need fully balanced multi channel amps, you will have to look at Outlaw audio, wired4sound or ATI... There are others but those 3 are in the "affordable category"
