PT-7020 FIRMWARE VERSION ".14"
OK, here's the scoop...
Current new units are shipping factory loaded with version V.14 of the firmware. The most recent previous version is V.11, which is still technically current for all units that shipped with it.
The only difference between V.11 and V.14 is in how the results of EmoQ are REPORTED. The actual results of EmoQ are identical, and the results sound identical.
(The difference is that, in V.11, on the EmoQ EQ screen, the screen shows the value of the correction applied; in V.14, the screen shows the value of the error which was corrected - which is equal and "opposite". In both cases, the calculations are the same, and the result is the same; ALL that's different is the values shown on the screen. Also remember that, in both cases, the values reported in EmoQ are not the total of all the corrections applied anyway, and so are only "for reference". )
At the moment, even though the "factory load" of V.14 is confirmed and shipping, we are in the process of verifying the V.14 UPDATE code; we will be releasing it as soon as we are done (which will be a few days at most). At that time it will be available from Support (and probably on the website).

May I suggest there be a firmware section pinned for easy reference of current firmware? Would help keep them from being buried in the forums.

Thanks, KeithL. I'll check my new 7020a for version (I'm suspecting I already have the 1.4).

I purchased a PT-7020 that shipped out on 8/29 and it came with firmware .11 installed. I had to dig through posts on this board for the procedure to display the firmware version as there's no mention of it in the manual or on either of Sherbourn's or Emotiva's web sites. I would like to update it to .14 before finalizing EQ tweaking so that I'm seeing the results reported the same way others do. Hopefully the firmware update, necessary software and any Sherbourn specific info/procedures will be posted soon and placed where they're easily located.
I considered the 7030 but the 7020 made more sense for me as I have no use for 3D video and prefer to do media control/networking externally (Mac mini) rather than through a proprietary processor interface. Most of my music listening is in stereo so I run my 2-channel sources direct via a stereo preamp equipped with HT bypass. The 7020 is mainly used for digital theater sources (Blu-ray, HD DVD, DVD, Roku, cable) in surround formats and it does a very good job with those.

Sorry buddy I'm only running a 3.1 system in that room. I would if I could. I was just letting you guys know that v.14 is out there. Hopefully some of the other guys with the sr-120's might see this and be able to test it.

With the weekend coming I don't suppose the guys in "J" building work the weekend either. Alas we are not a priority. Sad since Sr-120 firmware was sent to another user to diagnose an issue...it's essentially the same plus amplification.

I assume it would be posted on the Emotiva "Resources" page, not the "Support" page. Sherbourn has no support or resources page that I could find. In any case, no sign of it yet.

I suspect it'll show up here as well. www.emotiva.com/help/resources I also have a support ticket for the firmware and should get it via email. Nothing as of yet.
