I am in the process of assembling a large 7.1 theater system using full range speakers with considerable power requirments. Emotiva pricing is obviously very attractive. I understand the advantage of direct sales but there are many audio manufactures that offer direct sales who's pricing doesn't even come close to Emotiva.
While the world market of manufacturing is not a generic issue with me I do look into the manufacturing practices of products I'm considering. Obviously one can't know where everything we come in contact with in todays economy comes from, I'm simply doing the best I can especially when it comes to electronics and their huge potential for world pollution. I'm concerned about a manufactures standard operating procedures regarding the use, handling, and waste management, of toxic and ecologically harmful materials. Also, I'm interested in knowing the manufactures labor practices. I'm sure we're all aware of grossly inhuman unregulated labor issues of some offshore companies.
What offshore companies does Emotive contract to manufacture and assemble the components used in Emotiva products?

Pick up the phone and ask. I don't think you will get a correct answer from us forum folks who know as much as you.
Production is made in China if you didn't know that already.

I don't think Emotiva has to practice any longer. They've got this manufacturing thing down it seems.

Production is made in China if you didn't know that already. Oh man. The cats out of the bag! This entire time, I have always thought that Big Dan and Lonnie assembled every piece by hand. Big Dan would hold the capacitors to the correct spots on the curcuit boards while Lonnie soldered them all in place. Keith and Andrew, of course, have to stand by with an open bag of resistors in one hand, and caps in the other. My illusions are now crushed. Thank you Archie...thank you...

I don't think that listing company names will really help determine whether or not good operating procedures are followed.
But I imagine that there are certification services that ensure safe working conditions etc.

As for waste management, Archie,.. Seriously, they are handled here in the Emporium, and on eBay ,...we call them previously enjoyed gear ! The only pollution, is a seriously intoxicating sound !!!!.

Archie Dunn Santa Cruz, California Archie, do you require this disclosure from every manufacturer that you buy things from? That would be a lot of work in my view.

Perhaps Archie is from 60 Minutes and is trying to get some information for a potential story on Emotiva?
