Mine is back to having the same power problems again after Emotiva "fixed" it. Its just not worth even sending it in again to me as I now have zero faith in the product holding up for any amount of time. I've got pieces of equipment in systems around the house that are five times older and have been subjected to very harsh environments that still work flawlessly. This one has been babied its entire life and could only manage to be functional for about a year and a half. Don't think I'll be buying another Emotiva/Sherbourn product.

I know this is an old post, but add mine to the list. Sending it back today. Won't power on at all. Was also doing something very funky for the last several months. I'd set the speaker output levels manually and then turn it off for the night. The next day, they'd be resent to different levels. For example, what was once a center channel speaker set at 0 became a +4, or a left set to +4 magically went to 0 or to +8. Completely random and very weird.
Sorry, though. Mine is the Emotive Fusion 8100. Not a branded Sherbourn.

Mine is been back a while now and seems to be all fixed up. Had to pay to ship, but EMO took care of it from there. Thanks EMO.

Just repaired a second 8100 today, and they both had the same symptom of turn on problems. The repair for both was securing the 4 ground screws on each power supply board. The glue they use to secure the screw heads failed to adhere to the PCB's, allowing the screws to loosen and cause ground problems.

I called Emotiva last week to get my 8100 repaired and they were not interested in helping me getting it fixed, I can still use it but have to leave it unplugged and plugged back in to get it to restart on the first shot. If left plugged in, it's near impossible to get it to restart. Thanks for you insight and I will look for this and have my fingers crossed it fixes the issue. For now I have the Sherbourn on a smart plug and it does the job. Tom

Been a while, unit is still working. The last time it died i brought it to an electronic specialist. He claimed a capacitor was broken , blowned up. He also re-aranged the way that it was placed on the PCB, he said it would always fail eventually the way it was mounted this way.

This was probably the worst purchase that I've ever made. I originally purchased it back on 9/20/2013. I had issues with the IR receiver on it (wouldn't work more than 3 ft away from receiver) and had to ship it back to Emotiva for warranty service on 1/21/2014 which took a month and had to pay to ship it there.
I then had issues with it powering up on 8/14/2014 so had to ship it back for warranty service again with another month of downtime.
It died again on 9/28/2018 with the symptoms mentioned in this thread. I have a red light on the 220V power supply but it's plugged into a 120V outlet. It seems to think that it's connected to 220V when it's not. I believe this unit had a 5-yr warranty which it had technically reached 1 week before on 9/20/2013 even though I don't think I even received the unit until after 9/28/2013. The response from Emotiva this time was that "we no longer service out of warranty Sherbourn products" -- "we can offer you a trade-in value of $120 for the product".
It's been sitting in its original box ever since. I noticed the box again today and did a search and found this thread. This was originally a $550 purchase and was hoping that this might be a user serviceable item.

So mine died on me also. There is no HDMI output whatsoever. When i try to play sound with my phone and the bluetooth option it does produce sound.
The tv shows 'NO SIGNAL' , when i remove the cable from HDMI out the message change to 'NO CABLE CONNECTED', filled in the form for any information via the emotiva website.
Respons is : "customer support and warranty service is no longer available on any Sherbourn legacy products. Sherbourn Technologies LLC, closed in July 2013 and all Sherbourn products are out of warranty."
So actually it was gone after i purchased it in Juli 2013 :-)
