Hi Guys Just got home from the USA picking up my shiny new UPA-700. I LOVE it when Canadian Customs lets you slide through without paying duty on something worth a couple hundred bucks. A Quick question about mounting the rack ears for it, I just take the screws out of the side of the amp and replace them with the slightly longer screws that come with the ears and screw them back in? Thats it? I worry that when I undo the screws on the side of the amp I will hear a clunk as something that those screws mounted drops inside the amp. Do you think I will cook my UPA-700 if I install it in the rack directly above a new XPA-5? should I get a 1U rack spacer and leave 1U between the two?

Gotta love it when the CBSA doesn't whack you the taxes and duties!! Popping over the border, if you live close enough, is definitely the way to go. I've saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the years doing exactly that. Of course it helps that I'm only 15 minutes away from Washington State!

Me too, I live less than a mile from the river that splits Windsor from Detroit, I go over to the US shopping all the time, save a TON on shipping and taxes.

Neither amp is known for running hot, but if you can spare the room, an air space wouldn't hurt.

Hello Everyone, I also just purchased a UPA-700 to power stereo "Zones" 2,3&4 in my home so I only use 6 channels. I have it hooked up to my new Denon AVR-4520ci. I used to power the Zones with an old Denon AVR-4802R hooked up to my previous receiver (Denon AVR-4810ci) and the UPA-700 sounds AT LEAST as good as the Denon, and it was no slouch. This is my 4th Emo amp and it sounds just like the rest of them..., Great!
Blessings,Brian
