Streaming and direct from Oppo,,,,,,no difference in sound since there both going through the DC-1. Delivery makes no difference. 88.2 K never sounded so good!
David Elias has a nice sound.
Peace,
Nick

Thanks for the info - I'm only just trying out hi-rez audio formats. Playing on the PC direct via USB to XDA-2 and Stealth-8's. Very clean, natural, great plucked bass, etc. 88.2kHz/24-bit is lovely. Next test to see if I could actually tell the difference with CD quality 44.1kHz/16-bit.

Next test to see if I could actually tell the difference with CD quality 44.1kHz/16-bit. Well... Using the "Vision of Her" track downloaded in both 88.2kHz and 44.1kHz formats... so far... can't hear any difference, listening on the gear listed above. I know my hearing tops out around 13-13.5Khz, which is to say I'm losing only about the last half octave between 10 and 20Khz, so don't know if there's some "air" up there that I'm missing. Nice guitars either way I think my mind wants to hear a difference, and I'm trying to convince myself that the guitars have more suppleness on the 88.2kHz version, so the 44.1kHz version is 0.001% harsher. Hmmm.

Wow, just tried listening to these tracks on HP (Senn HD800's) - the extra intimacy and clarity is incredible!! Cranking it up a little is soooooo satisfying, from subtle details to depth of plucked bass. Want more recordings like this Sorry I'm having trouble distinguishing them. Ok... concentrating on certain sections... alright I'm convinced the 88.2kHz is better, but it is subtle. There is a greater delicacy to the acoustic guitars that is, well, delicious. Same sections at 44.1kHz sound excellent but I don't hear the "deliciousness". Enough. Enjoy!

The 88/24 seems to have a little more depth and more base than the 44/16. Sounds good!

Using the analog inputs on DC-1 I can switch between the oppo and the DC-1. I prefer the oppo DAC's . The voice is just a little clearer and the sound stage is wider. Great song I really enjoyed the guitar.

Thanks for sharing geebo. Do I understand correctly that these only work with Oppo BDP-103 and 105 players? If so, I may be SOL with my BDP-95.

The dc1 does not have dsd capability. I was using the wav 88/24 file. I don't have a program to play the dsd download.

I have an XDA-1 and foobar (WASAPI). Anybody know how to make DSD files to play in foobar to the XDA-1? i don't think xda-1 and dc-1 support DSD. you will need plug-ins like dsdiff decoder or super audio cd decoder, asio4all/wasapi and a dac that has usb input that can handle dsd files and chip which dsd ready.
