Lonnie, Love the gym rules! Kick a$$,,,,,,,, isn't that your middle name? I think you can build this with your brain tied behind your back! Easy build for you! Put it on the sales page of the web sight and watch the $$$$$ roll in. I personally have no need at this time but have read enough to know a winning Idea when I see it. Peace, Thanks again! Nick Glad you liked the Gym rules. Just having a little fun. I actually have a few more on the list but I don't think it would be appropriate to post them. As for myself, I'm at the gym six days a week, pushing it to the limit and the guys I work out with get it. It's all the interlopers that screw things up. But I digress. Thanks for the comments and the interest. Lonnie Gym Rules 1. No curling on the Bench or Squat Rack 2. No really, the bench is for Bech press and the Squat rack is for Squats. 3. No dumping the Dumb Bells. You picked them up, you can put them down. 4. Unload your own bar. You put the weights on there, you can take them off. 5. Shut up and lift. 6. Cell phones..... See rule 5. 7. Stop staring at the women. Seriously its freaking everyone out. 8. Smith machine?,?.?........Really? 9. Its your sweat, wipe it Attachments:

Definitely would look to add that to the system. Must have 1/4 in. jack, quad differential to match with XSP-1 or XMC-1 analog section. Possibly able to switch gain to allow full use of volume control with more sensitive cans. Sounds like a winner to me.

^ That's a sweet looking ride... Thanks. Ill be doing a similar black out mod to the UPA-500 when I get one. I was going to jump on one when Emotiva did the Secret Warehouse sale and I called in the morning to place the order but the girl who answered put me on hold, then told me someone from sales would call me back and I waited until the next morning and no one called me back. So I called again and of course by then they were sold out of the UPA-500 and I missed out. I wanted to get mad, but I knew they were probably slammed with all the orders coming in from the Secret Sale. Just sucks because now I have to wait for the next sale as I just cant afford/justify the UPA-500 at full price for what I want to use it for. Oh well, such is life. So someday when I do get one Ill black it out and post some pics here after its done.

I'm also, VERY interested in an Emotiva Headphone amp. I'm one of the Mini-X purchasers that bought it solely to use with a pair of Planar / Ortho headphones. The headphone amp on the XDA-2 that I also own, most certainly will not handle those hungry beasts properly. If possible it would be great if they had the power available to feed those, but the finesse to also properly drive higher efficiency cans with low impedence.
On a side note Lonnie, if you guys wanted to also put out a pair of Emotiva headphones, I'd be in line for a pair of those also.

Trouble with Emotiva building a "kick @$$" headphone amp is itll probably be priced to target people wanting to pay more for such a dedicated amp. That was originally (and still is IMO) one of the biggest draws to the mini-X a-100. It wasnt designed or priced to target high end anything and therefore is very cheap. The mini-X a-100 has already become tried and true with several very high end headphones and does the job of headphone amp wonderfully and can be had for at most $219. I got mine on sale for $170 and the like new refurbs were $150. All youve gotta do is make or buy an adapter or do what I did and install a front mount TRS jack. Inline attenuation can be added to either. No need to pay any higher price for some new dedicated headphone amp.

Hi Benr: If I were to opt for the adapter, can I add the attenuation by simply installing standard attenuators at the input points on the mini-x (DC-1 out ===>> Mini-x inputs)? Also is the adapter in the pic available for sale, or did you make that yourself?
Thanks...

Thanks...You could definitely put the attenuation resistors inline with the adapter cable I pictured and avoid messing with the amp itself entirely. I built the one shown in the review though I have seen others on eBay while not as nice looking still offer the same function. One with attenuation resistors in line would more than likely have to be a custom job that someone would have to build for you or you build it yourself.

I'd probably be in... I have too much emo stuff already.
I'd love it to match well with the DC-1. Balanced inputs and balanced outputs.

I would definitely consider an Emotiva headphone amp if it's competitive price/performance-wise with, say, Schiit gear.

Count me in too. I'd definitely have one imported to Vancouver. Although I've been rocking my aiaiai TMA-1 Fool's Gold set as of late.

I'd be interested in what emo can do in the headphone arena. Something powerful enough to drive my hifimans yet compact enough to sit on my computer desk.
