B&W 685 OR Tekton Mini Lore. Both would have matching Subwoofers.
Which & Why?

First off, those are both really great choices. The M-lore monitor? or the mid tower? To open up some options for you it is not imperative to match the subwoofer with the speakers. This could open a lot of doors for you to save some $$$. I haven't personally used Bowers or Tekton subs, but there are really great options from the likes of PSA, SVS, Rythmik, HSU etc. Might want to look in that direction. Everyone here is going to want to know a few things. Room Size Applications music/movies? 2 speakers? 5 speakers? Maybe snap some photos of your room for a better understanding. Right off the bat I am going to recommend the M-Lore to you, just from seeing your UPA-200. This should be PLENTY of clean power to get full potential out of the M-Lore. I have listened to the B&W 685 quite a number of times and it does sound like a great speaker, and they are basically the same price. So here is my opinion. Order the Tekton M-Lore, and go to best buy pick up a pair of the 685 and A/B them. When you decide, you can return the other pair. $1,300 isn't much to be out of pocket for 30 days until you decide which pair will suit you. Good luck.

On a side note with the Tekton speakers the Monitors are $25 less than the Mid towers. The extra $25 will eliminate the need for speaker stands should you need to purchase those for the B&W. That money could go towards the sub.

My wondering is due because I will be adding another listening area within the next weeks. But for 80 music / 20 movie would the Tekton Mini Lore's be greater or just louder / more impact?

No brainer then. Order a pair of the Mini Lore mid towers and A/B them with the 685 you currently own. If you don't care for them send them back or local sale.
I have never heard the M-lore. I live with Pendragons and they are exceptional speakers. The M-lores have received rave reviews.
however, if you really like the sound of the 685 and wouldn't mind another system with the exact speakers then hey! You know what you like!
I circle back to my first statement in this post. Order the M-lore and audition them, easy choice.

I haven't hear the Tektons, but no speaker is perfect. Since you already have the B&W's why not have another view or attempt at accuracy? I'm a big B&W fan but if I were in your position I'd be looking for something different just for the variety. The Tektons have a very good rep, seems like the choice to me.
