I remember hearing that the original XPA1 has an issue with the positive and negative speaker terminals being placed further apart than many interconnects reach. Was this ever corrected within later models of the original XPA1?
I see a used pair on sale locally and was wondering if it was worthwhile to look at them. My interconnects would not reach if the terminals are more than twelve inches apart.

I'm unsure if the terminal positions were changed but let me ask: Would replacing your interconnects be an option?

Thanks for the answer. I guess so, but it would not be the preferred option. I have the XPA 100 now, but would consider upgrading to the 1s for the extra power handling ability on my Maggies. Interconnects have never been a priority to me. I have 15 year old Transparent speaker wires now.

You should be able to split the conductor jacket to lengthen the open span.
