I already assigned buttons to inputs but what I'm wondering is why do we need buttons at all? Does not assigning the input in harmony software not work in XMC? I never manually chose an input from the remote before. The activity chose the proper input by itself as it was assigned in the harmony software.
Excuse me if I'm missing something and Thanks for your help!

Excuse me if I'm missing something and Thanks for your help! The activities in the Harmony change inputs the way they are set up in that device's profile. So with the XMC, the activity will use the NEXT method. You must change the input method of the device then go back thru the activities affected and they will then use the direct input method. But you must set it up to operate that way or else it won't. It's a one time configuration thing for the Harmony/XMC. All my activities directly select the desired input and all I have to do is push one button to start the activity. And don't forget, you must also go into the XMC setup for each input and assign one of the input buttons to that input.

Not so harmonious here.... I've been picking this old thread apart(and others), trying to program my Harmony Ultimate One to get my new XMC-1 to the correct inputs. I've come to the conclusion that the reason some of us are in the dark still, is that we are stuck with using myharmony.com software rather than the much more programable original Harmony software that ony works with certain remotes, like my original ONE and the old 880(I've tried to connect old skool, no bueno). Ya just can't select a "direct input method" on myharmony.com's software. So, unless anyone has any new experience with this latest smarty pants software... I will just keep beating my head against the myharmony firewall. This next beating will take place in the form of attempting to add more layers of commands... I dunno. I've stubbornly not even downloaded Dirac Full until I can control my new XMC-1, which I've been stalking for the last couple years to replace the trusty ol Denon 3808. ...Trying to find my way around the lounge has been somewhat clumsy... Running into all these tables and walls and stuff ~ Ps- I hope all you non Logitech code searchers are making headway by now, too!

I still need the remote codes posted so I can program my remote. Yup, still waiting. Still using the old UMC-1 codes, but I'd sure like the XMC codes.

We need Directv to add the XMC-1 to the remote codes too. I asked DirecTV to do this a month ago. I'm not expecting anything unless others also request it. PS - I'm still VERY happy with the Emotiva remote.

PS - I'm still VERY happy with the Emotiva remote. I'm not sure which codes you're looking for, but all of the codes for the remote are on page 99 of the manual - they NEC codes - product code is 0x79. Also, if you send support a mail, they'll send you the codes in Pronto CCF format.

petes - we're talking about programming the DirecTV remote. Only DirecTV can program it for its customers to use.

The XMC codes in their database didn't work. The UMC-1 codes did work. It only took a bit of experimenting to match UMC functions to XMC functions.

Running into all these tables and walls and stuff ~ Ps- I hope all you non Logitech code searchers are making headway by now, too! It appears that Logitech and Directv concerns have been inserted into your XMC IR remote codes thread. A search brought me to this thread, as I found some useful Harmony info. That said, I will just give a quick update on my situation... Just in case more like me wander over to this side of the lounge. Then, I'll focus my Logitech attentions elsewhere For us Myharmoney.com software users, I finally found the cryptic section for changing from scrolling input selection, to direct input selection... 1. Select to adjust the XMC-1 for Harmony device input settings, click next. 2. Select the top selection stating "I press different buttons that directly switch...", click next. 3.*this is where I previously choked* Select the left columns "Fix an input" tab. I previously thought this meant some sort of a 'fix' as in an unwarranted 'repair' -I've screwed many things up in life trying to 'fix' them!!! (The right column just allows to drag over some silly generic labels for the inputs) Anyways, the 8 inputs all say 'unassigned' next to them... Assign them as the XMC-1s direct input buttons! And, like with the regular Harmony software spoken of, you still hafta use XMC-1s setup menu and reassign ITS buttons. fortunately, as of now, I only needed the 7 input buttons. Butt, like others have shared, this is the only way for a Harmony remote to successfully get to XMC-1s inputs when power cycling/switching activities. I foresee needing the use of maybe 4-5 more direct input buttons in my future. Sucky, butt it is what it is. Finally, time to setup Dirac and see what this baby can really do

Interesting as well that they've posted the updated user manual now for the 3.0 firmware upgrade - with for example the appendix for REW import/export now included.
