I guess the thread title says it all. Any idea when a US made XPA-1L might ship? It's great if it's US made as I then pay little to no duty bringing it into Canada!

I know they said *some* products will be made in the US but I was under the impression other products will continue to be made in China. If that is true, I may pick up a two more for my mains and move two of my Gen 1 XPA-1L amps to the rear just for the fun of it.

I'm thinking of replacing my mains/center with three of them vs the UPA-1s I have now. It sure would be nice if not for bragging rights to have a truly balanced end to end front stage. I don't believe the DAC output in the XMC-1 for center is truly balanced though just L/R. I sure hope Emo/Jade finds the PCB space to have truly balanced outputs on the RMC-1.

I could be wrong and I have yet to pull it apart to look at the output PCB. I do have issues though right off the bat. The 12V trigger kicks on and off with my UPA-1s. I tried one trigger doing all amps IE trigger daisy chained. Using two triggers (1 and 3) where one trigger was for two amps and the other for three amps. Same thing. intermittent clicking on/off. It's like the amp is pulling to much current for the trigger's output. I sure hope that's on it's own PCB and a revision change has been made or is being made. You'd think Emo/Jade would be aware of the current draw from their amps 12v trigger input and would design a bloody trigger circuit that can handle it!

I also noticed this would happen when I was surfing the UI so that suggests it's firmware/microcontroller related vs a current issue. It's still very hard to believe that Emo/Jade were not aware of this issue prior to shipment IMHO. Lets hope if it's a hardware issue they redesign the trigger circuit/PCB and fix it.

A known issue and there is a temporary fix that involve a resistor and/or a capacitor in the trigger cable. I believe Emo may even send you a cable if you call. It's a problem with a few of the older amps.

BTW right off the bat I notice a PQ improvement vs. my old UMC-1 and not only that... it passes 4:4:4 properly for my HTPC transport!!! YAY!No more EVIL chroma subsampling and I can use my HTPC's LUT/conversion!!! I have to say there is also a NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT in sound quality. So far I'm very happy less the trigger issues and the sharp edged remotes.

Do you guys really believe that a Gen 2 XPA-1L is going to be that much better than a Gen 1? Enough to justify paying (at current discounted prices) ~30% more? I seriously doubt it, based on the other products Gen 2 versions and that the Gen 1 is already Gen 1.5 (electronically, Class A bias etc).
Cheers Gary

The XPA-1L on SALE now has got to be the buy of the decade!! I really mean this!

Buy the current XPA-1L's and a can of black paint to paint the trim, I have owned a Gen 2 XPA-5 and never noticed anything myself, I'm sure there are little improvements but my hearing cannot detect this like I'm sure most wouldn't either, the Gen1 price is an insane deal IMO

I highly doubt the XPA-1L G2 will be made in the USA, none of the amps have been and there's no indication they'd start here. I can understand wanting the Gen 2 cosmetics though, I'm going for the XPA-7 Gen2 with my XMC-1. That said I also bet some people will be kicking themselves for not getting in on the great XPA-1L deal that's going on now!

I thought somebody mentioned that the gen 2 is just cosmetic differences? (I may be wrong).
