Thanks geebo, so you just added the new s/n to the account, and all was well, great! I actually tried to create an account and got an error that there was already an account for that user. So I tried picking Existing User and was prompted for everything else. Everything went without a hitch. I thought that might happen, that's why I ask. Thanks again geebo

Has anyone installed and ran the software under XP? The Dirac site lists Vista, 7, 8 only.

So far the only thing I have received is the email today telling me in joyous terms that if I order by the 16th I will get everything I am waiting for now by the 24th. I did not need that. Might be quicker to return the one I have now and order a new one. Sorry, just frustrated. I got that too. At first I thought it was my Dirac kit email. It's hard to be patient when others are playing, but Lonnie says they are busy sending stuff out. Hopefully soon. Getting codes out ASAP.

Have a close look at powersound barrak ; they just became available down here in Aus and the subs in particular have good extension and spl's . The designer was associated with SVS and very helpful with queries ; say no more If you want active satellites as well as subs though seaton would do ; though I notice you like horn drivers so powersound comes into the picture there www.powersoundaudio.com/Anyway enough o/t ; maybe post elsewhere for other recommendations Actually, this is not as off-topic as you think. When room correction becomes the backbone of your music/HT room, the conventional wisdom of speaker selection and placement goes out of the window for the most part. For example, not only you don't need full range speakers, you really don't want them, to allow optimum speaker placement for stereo balance and optimum sub placement for corrected room loading. The trick however, is finding satellites with plenty of headroom and low distortion. Those are few and far in between, and expensive to boot, as they are usually designed for recording studios. But thanks for the pointer. I'll look into this brand. The KEF LS50 fits your description!

Ideally, I would find a manufacturer who would detach the tweeter/midrange unit from their flagship floor-stander and sells it with no scaling down of their capability. Something like the B&W N802 tear-drop head on a tripod.

Can Dirac be used with a Google Chromebook? I'm not the sharpest tack when it comes to Computers. I just bought a chrome book for general web surfing and such, and it works great for that purpose. I'm just wondering if it will suffice? Anyone know? If it's a Intel powered Chromebook you may be able to rune Wine, which will run Windows programs in Linux (Wine won't run on an ARM processor). Thanks for the tip!

Hello !
I currently own a Umik 1, which is more or less the same one as the one sent by Emotiva (at least it looks so to me). If that is so can I use my mic when I receive the key?. The problem is that I live in Europe and now I have to pay shipping and customs, which makes no sense to me, but it is so...
Bye !

I have heard that the correction filter for the emotiva mic is built into the Dirac program.

I have been doing some critical listening with my Oppo 103 as the source running to the XMC via HMDI. Most of it has been done in Ref. mode into a pair of B&W 804s floor speakers but today I put it into stereo to see how the bass was sounding through a pair of SVS SB2000 Subs. The problem I have run into is my subs are not working in stereo or Direct they do work in the other 5.1 modes. Anyone on the forum with the Oppo Player having the same problem? I have been over both manuals and it looks like all settings are correct but still no subs in Stereo.

If not, nothing is being sent to the subs by design. Tony

If the mic is recognized as a normal USB microphone by your computer it will work just fine with REW, although it is unknown how flat the microphone really is, so it would be a good idea to get a calibration file for the microphone, e.g. from Cross Spectrum Labs. I do not think you can. I have heard that the correction filter for the emotiva mic is built into the Dirac program. I wonder whether the emo mic will work with REW? Yes they are set to small and they work fine when running in a 5.1 mode. save your settings and factory reset. This seems to clear a lot of trouble Tony I did that first thing, today I brought my XM radio in and it is hooked up to the analoge hook ups and it also does not have subs when in stereo. It should not matter what the source is or where the speakers are set on the source the XMC is now the controller and splits the signals to the subs or where ever.
Well just did another reset but this time I reloaded the factory settings, reset cold start and then reloaded my settings and now everything seems to be back to normal.
