Bought some AIF tracks from prostudiomasters.com without incident last week for 15% off. They run this promo pretty regularly, and they tend to be a buck or two cheaper on most releases than hdtracks.

Been buying from the German www.highresaudio.com/ lately as well. Prices are usually lower that the UK store of HDTracks, not as many titles though. (To get the English version of the site click on Englisch at the top of the page)

OK, just bought the 3 'Sectors' by RUSH from prostudiomasters.com. It took 2.5 days to download them. Understandably these are pretty large files, but seriously. Numerous hangups added to the download time length. If you're in a hurry to download stuff with these guys you may want to block out some time at another point. The upside is getting the downloads going again is much less hassle than the others I've used, but who wants to babysit a large download. I'd like to purchase, and let things go while I get on with business.

I have not tried Hi Def yet but plan to. I now have a streamer/DAC/computer set up and this Hi Def stuff is next on my list

If I wanted to buy my first Aretha Franklin download, which one should it be?

If I wanted to buy my first Aretha Franklin download, which one should it be? I'd recommend Aretha Franklin - Queen of Soul - The Atlantic Recordings (4 CDs).

Acoustic Sounds....Another popular supplier of high-definition audio files (www.acousticsounds.com). + They have an pretty wide selection, which includes many different formats. + The user experience is reasonable (it works and won't drive you nuts). + They seem to beat HDTRacks prices by $1 or $2 on some commonly available offerings. + They seem to provide more information about more albums than HDTRacks. I did some research on the hi-res downloads and the different sites. I find myself always returning to Acoustic Sounds. Recently purchased and old favorite. FleetWood-Mac/Rumors. The hi-res files have definitely raised the bar. IMO
