Saw two of my friends yesterday. They were recently back from RMAF. They told me that Emotiva amps were used to demo Siegfried Linkwitz's speakers at the show. They thought "the sound in the Linkwitz room was easily amongst the best at the show". Several writers for Stereophile thought the same. linkWay to go XPA-5 and XPA-200. Russ

To be fair, amps, provided they have enough power, have 0 to do with the sound. The XPA was likely the best value for the power they needed.

Please feel free to post something rational if you have a problem with the content of my post. How is posting the same thing over and over again across several threads rational? We got it the first couple times and even then it wasn't news. People are getting fed up with you not because they can't handle what you say like you keep implying it's because you're the equivalent of somebody who comments on a mac pro video that he can build the same rig for a third of the price. Do you expect your posts to make a difference? If not why are you "contributing"? Do you spend your days at audio stores warning people not to buy expensive or more powerful amps? Or do you just stick to doing it online?

To be fair, amps, provided they have enough power, have 0 to do with the sound. The XPA was likely the best value for the power they needed. That opinion (while not unique) is not shared by a large number of audiophiles and music lovers. I'd expect many of those attending RMAF would disagree as well. I think there's a lot to be said for Emotiva amps being used with more expensive and respected equipment.

AudioHTIT, thank you for posting something that isn't either a troll or personal attack. I agree that there is something to be said. Emotiva makes high quality amps that are free from the dealer channel markup. It's great to see them being used at shows like this.

Blind studies say otherwise. Richard Clark put up $10k to sort this out years ago. It's sad that people are still buying into the marketing that says otherwise.

Please feel free to post something rational if you have a problem with the content of my post. Posting that same statement in multiple threads and making combative argumenive posts adds exceedingly little value to the lounge. /rational enough?

You're essentially talking about the same thing in 3 different threads and that is just right now I'm sure there are more. The guy quoted people from RMAF and you're derailing the thread into the same "gaais the amp soundz all the same".

Everyone has opinions on things. Opinions are like a******s noses, everyone has one. Doesn't make anyone an absolute authority on things.
Let's stay on topic please.

Why wouldn't anyone who has a well informed rational opinion post the same thing in every thread in which they post on that subject. No, your statement isn't rational. Disagree with what I said then prove it is wrong instead of whining about my opinions.

Just for clarity sake, is the topic RMAF amps or the circular political "all amps sound the same" topic that memotiva is stirring up for no productive reason?
