Hey Guys, So, I received the Amp today. It took about 5 hours to setup. And that is because, I wanted to splice all my speaker cables and connect new Banana Plugs. The packaging was great. No apparent damage on the external box. No damage on the inside box. thank god. I only ran into one disappointment. I could not Bi-Amp with this amp. It would flash red on the channel that the bi-amp connected speaker was on. I tested it just with one speaker, just to make sure that it was nothing else. So basically, I had one set of speaker cables going from front right speaker (bottom binding post) into the front right input of the amp. And I made sure that the RCA connect on the amp right above the speaker connect was labeled as FR (Channel 5) and that RCA cable was connected directly to the Front Right on the Preout on the receiver. I then proceeded with connecting the top binding post of the speaker to the binding post right next to the FR, which is RS (Channel 4). Then I proceeded with running MCACC on the Pioneer Elite Receiver, which was set to Bi-Amp mode on the front Speakers (Don't thing this matters cause now there are no speakers connected to it), and the MCACC did not detect the speaker. As soon as I remove the speaker cable (from top binding post) from the amp, and rerun MCACC on the receiver, it detects the speaker. After an hour of trying different configurations, with different speaker, and cable, etc....I decided to give up on Bi-amping and proceed with the setup. Now the XPA-5 has all 5 speakers connected to it and i gotta say, WOW. Everything is just so much better. Crisp, Clear, Defined, Amazing. The audio just pops out so much more. The amp is beautiful, simple and elegant. I am not very good at explaining things. Hope this helps. Remo Deo

Those brass straps are for when you use 1 set of speaker cables. You need to remove them if you want to biamp them. that is why you are clipping your new XPA-5. I believe you have to un-screw the top binding post completely to remove them, also loosen up the bottom one so you can swing the strap and then rescrew both back on and then you can biamp.

Ok, I took the brass out. And the XPA-5 shuts down with red lights blinking when the MCACC starts detecting the speakers. Within the first minute of the MCACC calibration.

When I take the Speaker cable from the top binding post out on both front speakers, MCACC detects the speakers. Not sure what is going on???

Wow, I fixed it.
I had to run RCA cables from the surround back Preout of the receiver and connect them to the corresponding RCA port on the back of the XPA-5.
This worked.
Hooray.

Mike Thank you Mike, I truly appreciate it. I will reach out to him. I don't run into too many folks who have Paradigm Signature Speakers, since there are so many beautiful and awesome sounding speakers out there. My next step is to get an awesome preamp. Then i will be really set. Remo Deo

Holy sh**, I never noticed those there. I was looking for long straps. Let me try this really quick. Thank you very much. Remo Deo No problem, I'm glad you got it figured out. And your system is sweet Thank you. I am always trying to make it better. There are so many things we can do to our system's, its crazy. I was debating if I should get an amplifier stand for the XPA-5. I like how Magnolia Audio Video always display their Mcintosh Amps and Preamps on separate stands. And then put all the other components in an enclosed rack. I find myself dusting the system every week since its open. I was going back and forth on the salamander racks, but haven't jumped into it yet. Too many options out there. BTW, This is a good question for the members. Does anyone have their Emotiva Hardware on a separate amplifier stand. If so, can you please post pictures? Thank You Remo Deo
