I I saw in the past Emotiva had hinted at a turntable, I wish they would come out with one with the styling of say a XPA-1L face plate like the McIntosh MT-5. that would be awesome and if it was in the $500-$800 price range I would take one ! <hint> <hint> just imagine a Emotiva amp face plate on that and blue glowing platter ! P.S. hope this pic is allowed.

I take it youy haven't seen the pic of the (cancelled/on hold) emo turntable prototype Garbulky, I think Dan is making something better than this. He said he was going to make something and I think Big Dan wants a good turntable like we all do and we will just have to wait and see !

All ARE welcome to this GREAT big family. Id love to have another TT, especially one made by Big Dan, Lonnie, Ray and team, but I'm not sure how much TT you can get at $500.00. I'd love to hear one though!! Lots of great toys and friends around here,,,,,,enjoy! Maybe even have a little of this!!

Is there a reserve button yet for the Emotiva Turntable? I know there isn't but, maybe someday. I like the glass platter with the blue light. Like many audiophiles in their 60's, we have our vinyl, lots of vinyl. Still fun to play, clicks snaps and all.

Views are cool. But even better is enough folks who will say yes, and put green on the table, so the first Emotiva Turntable would be a reality. Vinyl is a select art today. Though admittedly it could outlast CD. Okay everyone will pound me for that one.
With music downloads the way we buy music, is CD or even Vinyl much for this world? I would still love an Emotiva Turntable just for having a few records to play. But my music will be the way of downloads. The turntable like that great bottle of Wine. Just for something special.

Only thing I could not wrap my mind around was the annoying pops and clicks. Didn't really have a great cleaning system like the VPI and so on.

Pops and clicks just are not that prevalent on a good deck and decent vinyl. I just don't understand this gripe! I own vinyl going back to 1960 that sounds better then any CD you own, no ticks, pops or noise. And yes, I play a lot of vinyl. Now ow don't get me wrong, it does eventually wear out, especially if abused , like a Cat Stevens LP that was played 1000 times with an old worn out needle,,,,,,what did I know that long ago?? I have aver a new and cria 68 TT and neither produce these sounds.. Come on over and have a listen, it's beautiful!!

Pro-ject, Rega and Music Hall all make nice entry level turntables. Audioadvisor.com has some decent deals.

I would really like to see Emotiva take a crack at the turntable market. I currently own about a half dozen including a VPI Classic 2, Technics SL1200 with Mike New bearing and KAB Damper, and a SOTA Satellite with a beloved Moerch UP-4 tonearm. Lately, I have been looking at this turntable on ebay: GEM Dandy PolyTable Turntable by George MerrillBack in the eighties and nineties I bought parts from George Merrill to upgrade my AR turntable I bought back in 1984. This included replacing the subchasis with the polycarbonite design he pioneered decades ago. This new GEM design looks really promising. At the listed price of $1495 this is probably a really good value. George Merrill is one of the heavyweights in turntable knowledge. Since Merrill is based in Cordova, Tennessee, it got me thinking that Emotiva should really make a call to their neighbor and sign George up for some consulting on a killer Emotiva turntable. With Emotiva's engineering and production expertise and Merrill's decades of turntable knowledge they could really come up with something special. I would buy one in a heart beat. Something to think about. -CB

It's clearly pitched at the hole in the SL1200/SL1210 market, but the specs fall some way short of those for the Technics. The Technics warrants some upgrades to get it up to an audiophile level anyway, so it'll be interesting to see whether any of the usual Technics mod places (thinking KAB Acoustics for instance) decide to take on the Pioneer and tweak it. It's certainly a good price for what seems to be a pretty solid turntable though.
