I loved that show back in the day. Anyway, that's what I was afraid of, having to send it off to get repaired. I went through that a few years ago, worst night mare ever. I bought a Peavey IPR 1600 amp to power my 2 (separate L/R) subs. 2 mos. later the amp dies, so I take it to a local Peavey dealer to get fixed under warranty. Bottom line 6mos. later & 3 repairman later it was sent off to Peavey HQ's. Another 3 mos. later after Peavey was unable to fix it. They Finally decided to replace it. Bottom line 9mos.and aprox $6,000.00 dollars later (their cost)they decided to replace a $399. amp. Happy to say I've never had a problem since. Awesome amp, but I'll never buy another product of theirs again, because of what I went through. dougc

Emotiva stands by their warranty even when the product is discontinued. I've personally had one of my discontunued products replaced with a brand new unit of the same model. I'm not guaranteeing it will happen that way all the time, but that Emotiva will stand by it. And unlike Peavey and other large commercial busineses, there is one headquarters for emo and that is in TN. Their sherbourn units have a 10 year warranty and when they closed down they stressed that they will stand by the warranty on all their unis.

I assure you!!! 8) Edit: I'll purchase the unit from you if you don't want it!

I just hope they come out with something equivalent in the near future. 7 x 120 or so would be nice.

It would be nice if emotiva would chime in and let us know what their future intentions are. I was hoping to upgrade next month with my taxes, but not a $1,ooo. jump. Outlaw just came out with a new 7 x 120 amp for $599. It would be nice if EMO did an equivalent.

QFT--The hook on the old UPA series was separates at not much more than a decent AVR and selling upgrades as buyers became more discriminating. With the absence of that entry level gear not sure what the target market is any more?

I imagine they aren't going to do away with the pricepoint. It's likely their biggest sellers next to the XPA-5. I think it's wise they hold off on announcements till the thing is released or is imminent.

I think they said something to the affect that the entire U series was being discontinued (possibly in the announcement that the UMC-200 was end of life). At one point they mentioned an XMC-200 as a less expensive XMC-1, maybe an XPA-700 would be a companion amp. Just speculation, like garbulky I doubt they'll make any comments until they have a product ready to release.

Most companies have a line in place before they pull the plug on an existing line. Uurg.

MAYBE the recent refurb sale was to to clear space was to clear room for the new products coming on the slow boat from China...
