Well the blue lights got me. Got a deal on an xpr5. And while it is 1000% overkill since I have 95fb sensitive speakers I had a chance to own a great peice after selling my xpa5 for a rediculous low price out of pocket. So I pulled the trigger I have it in my car at this point and will set it up tonight. I will post my thoughts Who ever said rational decisions are best. Hahah

Thanks. Of course I will throw in...don't be surprised if you see it in the lounge though soon. I will hang on to it for a while. But I may come to my senses at some point.

When it comes to a man's hobby we don't make "rational decisions" haha

No such thing as overkill, those xpr amps are so sweet, my biggest regret so far in this hobby is selling my xpr2. But " I thought it was overkill " (facepalm)

The XPR-5 is a killer amp imho and I speak from having owned the XPA-5 and currently own the XPA-2 gen2 and XPR-2 along with the same XPR-5.
When comparing the XPR-5 and XPR-2, the incremental improvement of the XPR-2 is not big which make the XPR-5 a tremendous value.
In hindsight, I didn't need the XPR-2 but I'm not going to be selling it...the XPA-2 gen2 will probably go soon.

Well so far so sweet. It seems to be throwing a more 3 dimensional sound. Slightly bigger stage. Could all be in my head. But I don't feel the depth was there with the xpa5. The sound is more smooth and sweet. Where the xpa was a little more forward. These are all from about an hour of listening. I watched a movie. Now listing to a few tunes.

Listening to hit hat jive jack by Diana krall.
Now they say amps don't make a difference in sound. I disagree. This sounds amazing. The piano is as real as I have ever heard. And the imaging is spot on. Very very nice amp right here

Again I know o don't need the power at all in fact I'm prob using 30-60 watts most of the time. But man this thing has made my room sound the best it's ever been. And at very loud volumes. Might be listener bias. But If it is so be it!! I have always said if you need somthing to help (be a copper bracelet for joints etc) and it's purely placebo but you feel better. Then guess what...placebo or not it works! I am loving my gear! I have been streaming hifi through tidal and at -5 which I have never been able to in the past. And rage against the machine? Pure audio-gasm For movies. Well forget about imax. Just come to Bmoney-max Xpr is a winner in my book. It's slightly more laid back than the xpa5 which makes it directly in my sweet spot that I love. Great clarity with zero sharpness to the treble boot that the xpa was egregiously bright. But this just lowers it a tick to make listening fatigue a phrase I'll never understand again.

I like the more laid back sound as well just not prepare to deal with all that comes with a my back hurts every time I see one of those amps! Congrats and glad to hear you're enjoy the amps Dan

I had a gen1
To be honest I didnt think it was that heavy. I was expecting heavier. But I didn't have to lift it very far. It seemed much more heavy boxes up
But yeah it is sweet sounding. For sure. And if I ever get 80db sensitive speakers hahahah I will have plenty of powahhhhhh
I did tell my wife I bought this as an investment flip. Which I can be easily after what I paid. Just not sure how I can let it go now. Damnit all time backfire. Kind of like a surrogate that wants to keep the baby
