With the upcoming Fusion 8100 availability, what will the upgrade/trade-in path be in anticipation for Dolby Atmos decoding in the future (far-far future may be). Will Emotiva give out upgrade voucher/coupons like it did to some of the Processor products in the past, or firmware flush upgrade? Thanks.

Good question. I'm not positive but I don't think the Fusion qualifies you for any future upgrades - processors - Atmos - or anything else since it is a receiver and not a preamp processor. As for Atmos it may be the next bust - who knows? AFAIK Dan hasn't even committed to implementing Atmos in the future.

I was told by Emotiva sales that the Fusion does indeed enter you in the upgrade for life program.

Yes, that is correct. The program is for Processors only.

I would think the implementation of USB 2.0 & HDCP 2.2 would come before Atmos

True the Fusion 8100 is not a 'true' standalone Processor. However is does exactly what a Processor does (and then some - 7 speaker level outputs among all other things): Decoding signals on different algorithm/standards/licensing/technology and is prone to emerging technologies updates, just like other standalone Processors do (XMC-1, UMC-200). I really hope Fusion 8100 does indeed enter us in the Upgrade For Life Program as this will be a major deciding factor for some prospect customers in choosing Emotiva's Fusion receivers over other AV/R brands (NAD, Arcam, Anthem, Yamaha, Marantz, Denon, Integra, etc.. - no one has upgrade for life program out there).
Any Emotiva Officials are welcome to comment :-)

Sherbourn receivers qualified for the upgrade for life program but I don't recall reading that Emotiva receivers did also. ..and I think price point may have something to do with qualification but I'm not an employee. emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/500414/thread

I already told you guys Emotiva said it qualifies. If you don't believe me, ask them yourself instead of speculating...

Ok, if it does qualify, what does that mean exactly? What are the benefits?
