I really want to run a single amp system.I am either going to get the XPR-5 or the XPA-7.I just can't decide between the two.I already have all the cables to bi-amp my front mains using the XPA-7 and from what Damon from Emotiva says is I would get around 540 watts to each front main speaker bi-amping.I would appreciate any help, insight, pros and or cons.
Best, dmraupp

Bi-amp using the XPA-5 you have and you will get very close to the sound of the xpa-7. Try that for a while to see if you like it. If it sounds the same as before, at least you will have an answer.

7 monoblocs would be cool. Until the electrician showed up to run 2 or 3 new outlet runs. wait till you get the BILL! Biamping with the XPA-5 would leave you with one channel unused. For the center channel? Spare? Also, what is the crossover point of the speakers you intend to biamp? High frequencies need FAR less power as you go up. If the crossover was say……5000hz, than you might need something like a 80% (below crossover) to 20% above. Clearly, with the same amp on both high and low end, you'd run out of steam on the low end far earlier than the high end. Read this article, if you can squeeze out the time. It'll answer LOTS of questions, I hope. sound.westhost.com/bi-amp.htmThis is part #1 of 2. Enjoy:

If you're set on buying one of the two, just buy the two, compare, and return the one you don't want in the end! that will answer more questions than anything else...

I just purchased a XPA-2 Gen2 from the warehouse sale.I now have 2 amps and seven channels.I feel this is a better dael vs the XPA-7 anyway.Just take a look at the specs for the XPA-2 Gen2 and I think you will agree.
