This is really odd - you should not have to use a Y-splitter and you should be able to run the fronts full range or high pass. FYI, I have my fronts running full range our of my XSP-1, yet I get plenty of bass out of my sub.

Thanks for the suggestion on the splitter !!!

I've been having the same issue with my XSP-1, which i did not have with USP-1. What did you end up settling on to get them to work? Almost sounded like you got used to the low subwoofer output I am using both balanced outputs to drive my speakers and subwoofer. As I did not have an issue driving the sub with the USP-1 (both outputs not balanced), I am wondering if the subwoofer out on the XSP-1 is not balanced and as a result does not habe the 6db gain, thereby sounding anemic compared to mains.

As per below, I run the XSP-1 Gen 2 to an XPA-200 (@ 400 watts into 4 Ohms hardly a huge watt power amp) to a single sub with a 17" driver in a 140 litre dual ported enclosure via a 5 metre Emotiva XLR cable. No problem at all with the sub volume, there's plenty and it's nicely balanced with the mains powered by XPA-1L's.
FWIW I run the mains full range (no high pass filtering) as that is required to have the XSP-1 run differential/discrete/fully balanced. Engaging the high pass filter bypasses the fully balanced pathway.
Cheers Gary

Does the XSP-1 have a crossover and is it on or off? Does the sub have a crossover and is IT on or off?
Use only ONE of them. A crossover into a crossover might have the result you see.
Personally? I'd use the full-range output of the preamp into the crossover of the sub......

Hi friends. I got the Y splitter today and tried. If I use the summed output and use the splitter at the subwoofer end, this seems to help. I don't have to push the volume on the XSP that much but still the SLAM is missing until I push the volume I will do a bit of further tweaking and update back tomorrow. Doesn't sound like you got to the ROOT. I looked up the Jamo650 and see NO WAY to shut the crossover OFF. Go to the preamp and run the sub output as Full Range. Turn the crossover on the sub down to 80 or whatever....subject to later experiment and try THAT. The next experiment if that should fail? run some speaker wires TO the speaker inputs of the sub. They are very high impedance so don't worry about it.... and you don't need 'big' wire. They won't be carrying any power.
