Hi all, just curious, should I get rca to xlr cables to get rid of hum? And if so, which are good enough?

No, it won't help for hum, only XLR to XLR. More likely you should be looking for a ground loop or better cable routing.

I did the best I could to separate interconnects from power cords, still a slight hum, not too bad but still there, should I get subwoofer cables to use as interconnects?, the one I have picks up nothing, not even when touching power cords, I'm using Mediabridge coax subwoofer cable for my sub.

Could be a suspect cable, but look closely at your power to interconnect routing. Try isolating the power cables from the interconnects. If not possible, if the interconnect run perpendicular to the power cables it might help. Any New TV decoders added recently? Another great source for noise too.

If you want to eliminate any suspect cables, roll the 'good' Mediabridge cable into the other positions and see if there's any change.

Will go through the routing again...I unplugged the cable box from power, hum was still there....this is the first time I go through hum from interconnects, last year I had hum from the sub but not anymore since using the Mediabridge, I understand I might end up getting 9 more of those to have a peace of mind, the sound should be fine RIGHT?

Like I said, I would test the good cable in the other channels that hum before buying more cables.

Will do, my pain is that all 9 channels are humming, some more than others with 1 or 2 almost silent, but still there...

...I unplugged the cable box from power, hum was still there.... Assuming 'cable box" meant a cable company box, this won't break any ground loop being created by the cable company (difference between local ground and cable company distribution ground). You must disconnect the actual coax cable from the cable box. If you find this is your issue go to partsexpress.com and order the VIT-1 isolator. My latest fix is simply getting rid of cable ,

Got it, hum being picked up by interconnect cables, will buy 9 coax cables like the one I'm using for one of the sub's which picks up nothing, at least I know there's no ground loop, just hum from cables....

Up until 2 weeks ago, I would of been 100% behind that statement, but I watched XLR cables get rid of a buzzing on a bk amp. All 7 speakers had a buzz before the XLR and after had nothing. Still scratching my head on that one. Tony

Wait, you used rca to xlr cables and the hum went away? I want to be sure before I go try that, I'm getting ready to order my 9 Media bridge coax cables...

It was a light buzzing sound that existed on all channels. We replaced 7 rca cables with the cheapest multi pack of xlr available on amazon and the buzz is now gone. I think that this was an extremely rare case, but could be worth a shot if your purchasing from somewhere with a good return policy. Tony

Tony The OP's question was about RCA to XLR 'adaptor' cables, not XLR to XLR cables. It sounds like you are now using the latter correct? (your answer is still unclear) So yes, XLR <> XLR can help and in my opinion should be used wherever possible.

I will go ahead and order my Mediabridge coax cables for the 9 channels, like I said I'm using one for one of the subs and it is dead silent, the Monster cables have to go, don't get me wrong, I have to put my ear next to the speaker to hear the hum, and there's a weird thing, after the movie is over the hum gets a bit louder, scratching my head on that....but I want no hum at all, ordering my cables hopefully to have them next week.

Just curious - do the speakers hum when nothing else is connected except for outlet > amp > speakers?
Going through buzz/hum of my own and it's driving me nuts.
