“I listened to many preamps and the least important thing to me was the price. Most important was sound quality. The Lehmann Audio Decade proudly now resides as a permanent part of my system. It does everything well and as picky as I am I have no complaints.” lehighvalleyjeff , I have looked at many units half the price and wasn’t inspired by some though a couple had my interest. Ive been seeking advice in many places, even received a response from Ron Sutherland himself. Nice guy. I may soon be bringing a couple at a time in for comparison. Thanks for your response, it means a lot to me.

I’ve been enjoying many of the posts about systems we’ve been listening to. Always good to here y’all getting the sound you want. I’ve not posted here on my thread for some time as life has been so busy. I’ve also been dead on with the sound and feel of my two channel system, HT is still in the works, waiting on the fixes for the RMC-1.
Paradigm Studios really don’t need a sub unless I’m listening to pipe organ music or something that really requires more bass then I usually need/want. Analog and Digital have been sounding the best I’ve ever heard, Am I done my quest? Could be, unless I roll into a ton of money and a much larger dedicated listening room. With a larger room I still wouldn’t necessarily need different gear but I could play with many new toys. LOL
End of side B, time to drop side C on the Rega

Storm is rolling in and it pained me to shut down my Streamer, DAC and Mac Mini! They’ve been on continuously for months! They were sounding the best I’ve ever heard my system, or any other for that matter! Hope it doesn’t take for ever to get back to where it was.
Anybody else ever feel this way?

Testing out a system that I’ll be taking to my restaurant. No use for it at home and most likely wouldn’t get what I think the Yamaha RXA3020 is worth if I offered it for sale. So, I’ll move it to a room that is 5,000 sq ft with 10’ ceilings. That leaves me needing inexpensive speakers if I want to fill the room. Not looking to turn it into a bar or night club, too old to put up with drunks and such. Need my sleep with my condition. But I do spend a lot of time there and would enjoy rocking out on occasion. Without adding any amps I was thinking I’d need very efficient speakers BUT (Yes, a big but) I don’t want to spend what I should have in a room that size. Klipschhorns are more then I’m willing to spend! Ha, Ha! Maybe add a bigger screen tv. Klipsch and JBL comes to mind, I do like horns but don’t have that kind of room at home. Suggestions? No real Craig’s list as I live in a rather small town and am 2 plus hours from any larger city. ATM I do have a set of LS50’s but they’d be for near field only in that room.

After a lot of time trying to track down an amp going into protection mode I’ve found that the RRS channel of my UMC-200 is dead. It produces only something I cannot call static. Not sure what to call the sound but it’s nothing being processed by the prepro. I’m assuming that this may be the beginning of the end for this processor. Any idea as to how long it’ll last? AND THEN, what to replace it with? Hmm!!

Am I having fun yet? Today my TiVo cable box goes out and they wonbe out till Wednesday to take a look at it! I have plenty of discs and the internet, ATV4K etc, but still, I haven’t had much luck with electronics lately! I had to disconnect the box from my system as I was getting feedback from it periodically.
Where did I put that OTA antenna? LOL I guess I’ll get the local weather and news from my IPad. Listening to music with the Mrs and having a good time.

Very slight hum in my center channel ( Paradigm CC-690 ). Just pulled it out of the way, it is a two person job so while its out I intend to do a little housekeeping. Cleaning, vacuuming and such. Then I’ll find the cable (s) that are causing this nuisance! I won’t take any more time dialing in my system without this being done! I pray its just that simple, wires crossed where they shouldn’t be. 🙏🤞🙏🤞 Wish me luck!

Strike One! Wasn’t on the amp side! Now I’ll need a spelunking helmet to dive into the mess behind the rack! What a webbed mess it is back there! I’ll need to pay my life insurance policy before I start! Looking again I just may pack luch too! LOL Tomorrow, as its too late to start tonight.

Moved the XLR cable and rerouted it and the speaker wires. Still have a little sound from the tweeter, Mrs thinks I’m crazy because of the small amount of sound that comes from it when the system is muted. Can’t hear it when I’m seated, actually have to put my ear 6” from it the get an earful! LOL How do I find out if its the speaker or my system? I’m afraid it may be the tweeter. 😢

We’ve spent a week listening and watching our system #2 in stereo only for a week. Finally have the new cables and installed the XPA-5 gen 2 back into the system. So thrilled to have it back, such a huge difference to both of us. Lifes small pleasures!
We’ve been utilizing system #2 more often as its more comfortable for both of us. Big fluffy sofas and recliners! Not the best for critical listening but just right for a few or a small group. Haven’t had any groups since this virus but this too shall pass.
This system is a 7.3 surround
Sanus tower
Emotiva/Sherbourn UMC-200 ERC-2 C-12 cooling units (2)
Power Management Belkin Furman
Tivo mini ATV Samsung 4k Blue-ray Samsung 65” 4K TV DR2 XPA-5 gen2 Stereo speakers are JBL CF120’s Center and the other 5 speakers are Klipsch which match very well 3 Klipsch subs, 1 up front and 2 corner loaded back rear.
4 - 2 X 2 absorbers, in need of more but no echoing in the room. Haven’t done any measurements. For the love of Dirac! 😁 couldn’t hurt!

Have I read it correctly Nick, the UMC-200 is OK and the noise is coming form somewhere else?
Cheers Gary

Raining in the restaurant last night during the storm, thank God the tornado warnings have stopped! Had to move the Plasma so time to find the channels. Panasonic still has a great picture for a 720. Heavy is an understatement!

Does it use component or HDMI?

YES! I watch it every Sunday night on AXS. He still has a great voice and can hit those high notes no problem. Amazing for a guy in his early 70's.
