You seem to be on 10.6.8, maybe a bit old. Do you have this file it mentions? /usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib Open Terminal and type: ls -l /usr/lib/libc++* On my 10.9 machine, I see: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 1405296 Oct 26 2013 /usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 14 Oct 26 2013 /usr/lib/libc++.dylib -> libc++.1.dylib -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 424624 Feb 17 2014 /usr/lib/libc++abi.dylib Well that library does seem to have gone missing, guess I'll have to figure out where to get a copy and which version is compatible with Snow Leopard. The easy fix would be to upgrade to a current version of OS instead of using an OS version where the major release is almost 6 years old. The last time I tried to upgrade this machine it turned into a paperweight. I'm very happy with Snow Leopard on this laptop, and don't want to have to bring it into the iOS world of Yosemite, if I dont have to. Also from the Dirac Live for Emotiva FAQ: Apple Computers System requirements: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - 10.9 Mavericks 2 gB memory (RAM) minimum 40 gB available hard disc space Network connection (Ethernet or WiFi) At least one available USB 2.0 port

I wouldn't put too much trust in that listing of OS versions, for instance it works fine in 10.10 but apparently not in 10.6. FWIW, The following Google search, "libc++.1.dylib" "snow leopard", indicates that libc++ was not distributed with 10.6.8.

FWIW, The following Google search, "libc++.1.dylib" "snow leopard", indicates that libc++ was not distributed with 10.6.8. Why shouldn't I put any trust in it? It's on their website under system requirements. What other source should I use? I did Google it and found the same info, that libc++ started being distributed with Lion. It seems that MacPorts can install Libc++ on 10.6.8. I'm cloning my machine in an effort to either get that working, or bite the bullet and "up"grade to Yosemite. Wish me luck.

You're own experience? Hope you get it to work! Well I get your point, but really BEFORE the fact would've been nice.

Absolutely! It seems possible to get the libc++ installed so hopefully it works then, hence it works under 10.6.8 Trust is good control is better.

If you have disk space the spring the existing one and install Mavericks or Yosemite in the freed up space...you will only need 20-25gb max. Assuming your mac can run Yosemite, but most in the last 5 years should be ok

I would go so far to say it's the best OS X to date. I have an old MacPro and my MacBook Pro still on Snow Leopard. While a new MacPro and an iMac are running Yosemite. I hate the way they are turning my desktop into an iPhone.
