Hi All,
I have a 7.1 set of Monitor GX speakers (300s, C150 and FXs) and it looks like my Lexicon LX7 is old and I will likely go 11.1 later on. The obvious choice for an Amp is the XPA-7 but according to the product page it cannot be shipped internationally. The pre amp is fully balanced so the XPA-1Ls looks nice but they start to look expensive as you add more and more to the basket (Particularly since there don't seem to be sales any more).
Any suggestions?

I have the Gold GS series 7.1 and run two XPA-5's. I had them shipped to London.
The left, right and centre speakers are passively bi-amped, so all ten channels of the two XPA-5 are in use.
One XPA runs the 2Ch left, 2Ch centre and a rear surround and the other the 2Ch right, sides and remaining rear.
I haven't done any comparisons of single speaker wire, bi-wiring or bi-amping but then I don't need to. I have ten amplifiers and seven speakers so bi-amping it is!

XPA-5 should do fine. If you need 7 channels and want a bit more power the XPA-2 for the mains and the XPA-5 for the rest of the speakers.

Any suggestions? I have owned the RX series in the past and sounded amazing powered with 2 XPA-1L's and an XPA-5, that way you could keep your mains fully balanced for music listening, currently I am running 2 XPA-100's and a XPA-5 which are all Gen1 on my Chane Audio speakers and it sounds amazing as well, you can't go wrong with any of the XPA series amps IMO. Chad Hi Chad, Did you have any trouble with the mismatched resistances between the XPA-1Ls and the XPA-5? Mismatched resistances ?, not sure I understand but all I know is could barely if at all tell a difference between the two amps myself, IMO of all the XPA amps I have owned honestly sounded the same to me, I do not have the ears of a classical musician but I do know when something sounds good or not I'm not saying some can't here a difference between amps in the same series but for myself I could never, they all have sounded really really great. I can and have been able to tell a difference between a UPA-200 and an XPA-2/XPA-5, I owned them all at the same time and would swap them and noticed the UPA-200 was a little less forward sounding, just my .02 of course. Chad Might I suggest that in this case, instead of two monobloc XPA-1L, a better purchase might be an XPA2 which saves $300 and some rack space plus it is possibly a better match for the XPA-5 as it has closer specs
